Red Sox 4 Orioles 0
Lester vs. the Orioles is about the surest pick you can make in baseball. Lester is now 8-0 with a 2.18 ERA against Baltimore in 10 career starts. Last night he threw 7 scoreless innings while striking out 8. Papelbon got the final out with two on to earn his 132nd career save, tying Bob Stanley for the most in Red Sox history. Papelbon has 19 saves this season in 20 opportunities. Oh yea, and he 20 for 20 in save opportunities against Baltimore with a 0.39 ERA...WOW.
Pedroia started the scoring in the first inning with an RBI single, then in the 4th Tek made it 2-0 with his RBI single. J.D. Drew put the game out of reach in the same inning with a 2 run blast (his 10th of the season).
Once again Boston's bullpen was amazing throwing two scoreless innings while using 4 pitchers. With the win the Sox are now 3 1/2 games ahead of the Yankees for 1st place in the AL East.
