Red Sox @ Braves Preview
Tonight the Sox will have their ace ont he hill against Jair Jurrjens. Beckett is 5-0 with a 0.45 ERA in his last six starts against Atlanta, holding the Braves without a run in five of those outings. Beckett started slow this season, but has been nasty of late (other then 1 bad game against the Phillies). Tonight he hopes to get the Sox back to their winning ways after the Nationals spoiled Smoltz's comeback party.
This will not be an easy win for the Sox, as Jair Jurrjens has been very good this season even though his record is only 5-5. Last time out Jurrejens played the Sox and went 6 1/2 innings allowing 2 runs. This kid can strike people out, but Boston is soon good at running up pitchers pitch count that it could come down to the Braves relievers.
The good news for the Sox is that the Braves can't hit the ball, so Beckett should have a great stat line and go deep into this game.
Game starts at 7:35 on NESN.
