Lowell Heading To DL?
"This morning, Mike Lowell will get an injection of Synvisc for his ailing right hip. How well it will work is anybody’s guess. “For some people, it’s like a miracle,” said manager Terry Francona. “For other people, it’s not. I’ve had it done and it didn’t do a thing for me. (Brad Mills) had the same shot, and two hours later, he felt like he was brand new. “The good news is if it doesn’t work, (it won’t be a setback). It’s just a gel that can really coat that joint. We’ll get that done (today) and see how he responds to that. He’ll probably need a day after that before we can evaluate, but then we’ll see. If he’s good, that’s good. If not, then we have to talk about the next step.” The next step could be a trip to the disabled list (Boston Herald)."
Hopefully this shot will work, but Sox fans have to be worried. Lowell is on borrowed time. he is getting older and hips are a hard thing to fix. Ask A-Rod who is younger and still can't seem to get it going. We will keep you updated, but we do know that he will not be playing tonight, and most likely tomorrow.
