Ok, all kidding aside though I don't think there is one player on the Royals I would fight over a bat for. Maybe Eric Hosmer in the small chance he ends up with a HOF career.

The Year The Yankee Fans Killed The Yankees

Before midnight last night there was the same talk coming from Yankee fans. "Sure those Red Sox signings are nice, but they are too left handed and once the Yankees sign Cliff Lee there is no way the Sox can beat them in a 7 game series". The arrogance of thinking no matter the history they can land anyone because of money seemed logical. They did it with Johnny Damon, so of course Cliff Lee's wife can absorb some spit and taunts from the historic Yankee fans.

Then the clock struck midnight, and everything changed.

Not only did Cliff Lee choose the Phillies over the Yankees, but he also did so for about $40 million less. But these are the legendary Yankees, a historic franchise with a historic fan base, why would anyone pass that up? Oh yea, because usually husbands aren't all that pleased when their wife is spit on.

I said it back on Oct 26th "We will see, but I'm glad those gelled hair, fan stabbing queers in New York might have cost themselves one of the best postseason pitchers this league has ever seen." I didn't think that would be enough for Lee to turn down top dollar, but when you are talking about the difference between 21 and 25 million a year I guess money really isn't all that important anymore.

Now we may look back and say "Wow good thing the Yankees didn't sign Lee to a 7 year deal", but for next year (which is usually all the Yankees care about) this is truly going to kill them, and demoralize their fan base. And I'm glad, it's about time those arrogant pieces of shit learned a lesson. No, not that you can't just throw money at a problem, but you shouldn't go around stabbing people (remember that Sox fan they stabbed), and you shouldn't spit on players' wives (especially when you are the favorites to sign that player).

Lee's Wife Won't Let Him Go To Yankees?

Almost everyone agrees that the Yankees at the very least are going to make a big push for Cliff Lee. Well selling him on coming to New York may have just gotten a bit tougher...

Perhaps the Rangers' greatest sales pitch simply was having Kristen sit in the visiting family section at Yankee Stadium during the playoffs. She says there were ugly taunts. Obscenities. Cups of beer thrown. Even fans spitting from the section above. "The fans did not do good things in my heart," Kristen says. LeBron Can't Move Past "The Decision"

DP reported the other day that LeBron had reposted all the hateful tweets he had received. Well, it seems LeBron still is not able to move on, as he is still making statements about fans' opinion of him...

"If I was a fan and I was on the outside looking in, I could be upset a little bit if one of my favorite players left," James said. "Or if I felt like he betrayed us or whatever the case may be. But you have to get over it."

James later tweeted that he was not speaking specifically to Cavaliers' fans: "Let's clear this up! I never said to the Cavs fans to 'get over it.' I've never and will never say anything bad about them. 7 years of joy!"

That is why he says he can understand to the backlash he's received. But he is not about to apologize for it.

"Sports are very emotional and fans are very emotional," James said. "At times they really believe you may be related to them you and you sleep in their house. When you do something wrong and you leave their house they can become very emotional. I've understood that over the years. But at the same time, you have to understand you have to do what is best yourself."

It really seems that LeBron can't handle all these people being mad at him, and is doing everything he can to get some sympathy, but the funny thing is he is never going to get it, and he doesn't deserve it. He made this mess for himself. If he wanted to be a fan favorite then he should've stayed in the small market Cleveland area and won them a Championship, but instead he went for the lights and glamour of Miami. Right or wrong, you can't expect to have everything LeBron, and you are the one that really needs to get over it.

Someone Other Then Me Is Trying To Kill A-Rod

"A fan who ran onto the field at Yankee Stadium during Game 3 of the American League Championship Series on Monday night apparently had a crush on movie star Cameron Diaz and wished harm upon Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez, who has dated Diaz. According to a New York Post story, Grim LeRogue, who legally changed his name from Joe Rogan, was carrying five pictures, including one of A-Rod with an X on his face and a gun pointed at his head (WEEI)."

Funny, I have that same picture in my wallet.

McNabb Better Not Get Booed

As you must know by know the Redskins are headed to Philly, and it will be the first McNabb faces his old team. There have been a lot of conversations as to whether or not he will get booed. All I have to say is shame on Eagles' fans if they do.

McNabb didn't ask to be traded. He didn't ask to be a Redskin, and after everything he has done for that franchise it be in poor taste to boo him from the start. I'm not saying once the game starts that he shouldn't be treated like every other player on the Redskins, but when they first announce him their should be a standing ovation. It's the least they can do after making this guy's life a living hell over his time there.

Longoria Rips Rays Fans

"Rays third baseman Evan Longoria ripped his team's lack of fan support Monday night as the Rays sat on the brink of clinching a playoff berth. Only 12,446 turned out to see the Rays' loss to the Orioles. After the game, Longoria brought up the topic of low attendance unprompted. Said the 24-year-old: "It's kind of like, What else do you have to do to draw fans in this place? It's actually embarrassing for us (WEEI)."

Longoria has every right to be upset. The Rays are one of the best teams in baseball, they are young, fast, exciting, and have some of the best pitching in all of baseball yet more fans came out to watch Tyler Seguin's and the rest of the Bruins scrimmage the Islanders. That is just fucking sad. The Rays stadium is a joke, their fan base is a joke, and they really should move and get new owners. Imagine if this team had a payroll to fall back on with all that young talent, they would be unstoppable.

Anyways, it's pretty obvious this Rays team deserves better.

What Is Wrong With Atlanta Fans?

"Joe Johnson was asked if Atlanta's home-court advantage has gotten any better as the team improved and his answer was no.

"Don't get me wrong, it's the home team and I enjoy playing there and I enjoy when the fans do come out," Johnson told the Daily Herald. "But by no stretch of the imagination have we got one of the best home crowds. We don't. I can't really even say it's getting there. "In the playoffs, yeah, they're there. Throughout the regular season, it's not much of a big difference from what it was. It's different, but it's not that big of a difference than what is was when I first got there (ESPN)."

I honestly don't get Atlanta. Even when the Braves were one of the best teams in baseball year in and year out they had a hard time getting fans to the game. The Hawks are one of the best up and coming teams in the NBA, and the people of Atlanta barely make a whisper. It seems like it is every sport (other then maybe football), because I watched at the Bruins played the Thrashers and there was no one at that game either. I am sure there are other cities that would get behind a team better then this, and it seems to be that Atlanta doesn't deserve a lot of what it has...

Red Sox Mad At Fans

Well here is a story that irritated me today...

"He had been perfect in the postseason, or as perfect as one can be, with an 0.00 ERA over 26 innings. Jonathan Papelbon -- one of the game's best closers and the Red Sox's franchise leader with 151 career saves -- walked off the Fenway Park mound Sunday to a chorus of boos.

"Why would you boo one of the best closers in the game?" the Angels' Hunter asked. "Booing Papelbon was not the right thing to do. I've got so much respect for him and I think he's one of the best closers in the game. That's terrible, actually."

"Look at what he's done in the playoffs, look at what he's done during the season," Lester said. "[It wasn't] even a bad outing, a team just beat him. I don't really appreciate that for what he's done for this city and what he's brought to this team. If you're [booing] based off one bad performance here, it's just not right."
Added Manny Delcarmen: "A little more respect for a guy like that, what he's done here. I don't think that was the right thing to do at the time."

Papelbon has been outstanding in his career with the Red Sox, but I am sorry no matter what if you get swept and lose the way the Sox did yesterday you are going to get booed. This was one of the most aggravating seasons I can remember as a Sox fan. There were so many highs and lows, but in the end Papelbon blew it, the Sox played like shit, and the fans let them know how they felt. I have 0 problem with that...
