With The 4th Pick In the NFL Draft The Cincinatti Bengals Select

AJ Green WR Georgia

I like Julio Jones better, but he is going to be a real good WR. 6'4, 220 and can catch the ball all over the place. Goes through the middle and can turn the jets on. If anything can convince Carson Palmer to stop being a douche, this should be it. What a great weapon to have.

How Stupid Can You Be?

"Amid all the all-encompassing insanity of the lifted lockout, here's some potentially damaging news for a pair of prospects, just 48 hours before the NFL Draft: Georgia LB/DL Justin Houston and Iowa DL Christian Ballard have reportedly tested positive for marijuana. That's according to Jay Glazer of FOX Sports (whose tweet somehow almost got lost in the maw that is the legal discussion regarding the lockout), who notes that the pair are "2 highly-graded defensive draft kids (CBS Sports)."

These stories pop up every year, and every year I say the same thing "How fucking stupid can you be?" I just don't have much sympathy for people failing drug tests you know are coming. You are about to enter the NFL Draft, where what round you get taken can be the difference of millions of dollars, and you go out and risk smoking pot? It's not like these were some low level guys either, both these guys are projected to go around the 2nd round, but after failing a drug test they might fall a couple rounds. Fucking idiots, you deserve nothing less. There is plenty of time to smoke pot when there isn't millions of dollars on the line.

With The 4th Pick In the 2011 NFL Draft the Cincinnati Bengals Select.....

AJ Green WR Georgia
The Bengals need a wr really bad with Chris Henry dead and Chad Johnson most likely going to be cut or traded and Terrell Owens a year older. AJ Green is the best wr on board by scouts (even though I believe Julio Jones will be a better pro), another scenario is that Carson Palmer gets traded and they draft Cam Newton. I don't see that happening, who knows with the Bengals.

BMack's Pick:

AJ Green WR Georgia

I could've seen they go with a QB, but with the two top QBs off the board the Bengals go with a WR, as I doubt TO will be back, and Ochocinco declining and may even be cut. Green gives Palmer (?) a new weapon. He is big (6'3"), strong (211 lbs), and according to scouts is a great route runner. The Bengals need to put a new face on their offense, and A.J. Green could slide into that role nicely.

SEC Breakdowns

2009 SEC Standings
EAST CONF. W-L OVERALL W-L
Florida 7-1 13-1
Georgia 6-2 10-3
Vanderbilt 4-4 7-6
South Carolina 4-4 7-6
Tennessee 3-5 5-7
Kentucky 2-6 7-6

WEST CONF. W-L OVERALL W-L
Alabama 8-0 12-2
Mississippi 5-3 9-4
LSU 3-5 8-5
Auburn 2-6 5-7
Arkansas 2-6 5-7
Mississippi St. 2-6 4-8

Last year the SEC of course won the National Championship and I expect nothing less from them this year. So here is my top 5 SEC Teams.

1. Florida

I hate to admit it, but it would not surprise me in the least if they won the National Championship this year. I will be rooting against them all year, but they got Tebow, Spikes, Etc. all back and are in position to do it again.

2. Alabama

The Tide was a surprise team last year and really over achieved. Let's face it, this team is probably a better team without John Parker Wilson behind center. They have my boy Julio Jones who had some off season surgeries but will be fine and ready to dominate any cornerback put on him. They will have to replace Andre Smith, Antoine Caldwell, Marlon Davis, Nick Walker, and Travis McCall but when you have stars like Julio Jones, Mark Ingram, Mike McCoy, and Roy Upchurch, you should still be very competitive.

3. LSU

Not only did LSU have one of the best recruiting classes in 2009, they also found a reliable QB in Jordan Jefferson. Last year, the incompetiance at the quarterback position was as bad as Louisiana's politics (Zing), and ultimately doomed the Tigers to fight uphill all year. However, with LaFell coming back and stud freshman Rueben Randle joining the party, Jefferson will have plenty of Targets. Also, Charles Scott coming back is huge as well.

4. Mississippi

This team has potential to do pretty good in the upcoming season. Ole Miss is ranked No. 20 on the AP poll, and was the only team in the NCAA to defeat Florida last season. Ole Miss will be led by QB Jevan Snead and WR Dexter McCluster. I don't expect Ole Miss to come close to winning the SEC, but they will have a lot of competitive games.

5. Georgia

Georgia lost pretty much everyone, but they did have a good enough recruiting class this upcoming season. I'm not sure who is going to be taking over the helm at quarterback from Matthew Stafford, but they do have enough athletes on the offensive end to stay in some games. They also have a really good Defense to hold the fort down.

P.S. Florida is so gay

Knight to Georgia?

"A source close to the Basketball Hall of Fame coach told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution on Sunday that if Knight were offered the Bulldogs job, he would take it."

A lot of people don't like Bob Knight, but he is one of the best coaches of all time. It would be awesome if Georgia brought him back, and I think that they can pull in enough talent that he could build a very good program. We all know that Knight may flip out, but I put him in that Bill Parcell's mold. If this HOF coach wants to coach your team, you jump at the opportunity. He is known for being though on his players, burt I still think he will pull in some of the best recruits, and you know you would be getting all the publicity in the world. All around, it would be a great move for Georgia.

Dennis Felton Fired

Georgia Coach Dennis Felton has been fired after losing 7 straight and 0-5 in the SEC. Felton has not been that impressive of a coach with a school that is known for football, but has the potential to be awesome in basketball. Felton had an 84-91 record in six seasons at Georgia, including a 26-59 mark against SEC opponents. Felton inherited a Georgia program that had been crippled by NCAA sanctions. He succeeded Jim Harrick in 2003 after Harrick was fired following the discovery of academic fraud and other NCAA rules violations.

The only good thing he has done is win the SEC that crazy year, just to lose to Xavier in the first round.

College Football Picks

(1) Texas vs (6) Oklahoma State

Last week I went against Texas and they screwed me. So this week I am going to pick them to beat the surprising Oklahoma State Cowboys. Colt McCoy is the best quarterback in the country and his stats are video game like. RB Chris Ogbonnaya not only has an awesome name but will be able to run over this Oklahoma State defense all day. I like Zac Robinson, but sorry you just aren't going to win this game but they keep it somewhat close.

Texas 35-28

(3)Penn State vs (9) Ohio State

Penn State all the way. Penn State has a better offense and a better defense. The big story will be the two QBs, PSU Darrell Clark and OSU Terrelle Pryor. Clark has been the biggest surprise in college football and has been able to run an unbelievable offense. Pryor on the other hand has been able to bring Ohio State back and ranked in the top ten, but he will not be enough to take this game.

Penn State 42-28

(7)Georgia vs (12) LSU

LSU needs to win this game and they know it. After getting embarrassed by Florida they need to win out and that starts with Georgia. It is at Tiger stadium and that will mean all the fans will be in their corner. Jarrett Lee has had an up and down season and will have to straighten out to beat a tough Georgia defense. I am not worried about LSU's defense stopping Knowshon Moreno even though he is averaging over 100 yards a game. Georgia's offensive line is their biggest weakness and look for LSU to take advantage of that.
LSU 21 to 10

(7)Texas Tech vs (23) Kansas

Tech easily. I hate Kansas and I don't think they should do well in football and for that reason alone I am picking Tech big.

Tech 42 to 7

College Football Picks

(10)Georgia vs (22) Vanderbilt

Georgia is a better team and I hate Vandy. Moreno and Stafford are due for a big game and Georgia needs to win this game if they ever want to be talked in National Title talks again. Their defense is good enough to stop the Vandy rushing attack. Watch for AJ Green to have a huge game.

Georgia 35-10
(1) Texas vs (11) Missouri

After a huge loss against Oklahoma State, Mizzou is going to pissed and the Video game offense is going to knock out the number 1 team in the country again. Colt McCoy is going to be able to throw all over Mizzou's secondary, however this is going to be a game of points.

Mizzou 42-35
(20) Michigan State vs (12) Ohio State

This game should be focused on two players Michigan States Javon Ringer and Ohio States Terrell Pryor. Unfortunately for Ohio State, I am really high on Michigan State and Ringer so they are going to win a tough fought battle.

Mich State 21-14
(4) Oklahoma vs (16) Kansas

Sam Bradford and Oklahoma are going to come into this game pissed and believe it carries into the game. Even though Oklahoma's secondary is sometimes suspect, I believe the will keep Kansas' Todd Reesing in check.

Oklahoma 35-10

Alabama Shocks Georgia 41-30

In Nick Saban I trust. Yea, I said it. Loved him when he was at LSU, still love him now. Today Alabama went into the "blackout" in Georgia and made it Georgia's funeral for a National Championship. Alabama flew out to a stunning 31 point lead at halftime, mostly due to the play of their defense, and costly mistakes by Georgia's offense. Georgia got two roughing the passer calls on them in the first half, and they just seemed to be a little out of control (maybe a little too hyped for this game). Moreno, who is one of the best running backs in football, was held to only 34 yards on 9 carries. To make matters worse, Georgia offensive line was awful, and their QB Stafford had to run for his life most of the game. Alabama was in control, but they did have a little score in the 2nd have, as Georgia seemed to regain its composure as they scored 17 unanswered point coming out of halftime, but it wasn't enough and a 12 yard rushing TD by Alabama's Glen Coffee sealed the game. With the win I expect Alabama to go up from #8 to either 3 or 4, and now have serious hopes of a National Championship. ALL FEAR NICK SABAN!!!

College Football Picks

For all of you following my college football picks I am sorry. And if you possibly have been gambling on my picks I buried you. But this week will be my resurrection and improve my 7-7 record.

The game of the weekend is (8) Alabama vs (3) Georgia

I like Georgia and I like Knowshon Moreno a lot, but I like Alabama better. Georgia has an inexperienced offensive line and I believe Nick Saban will be able to take full advantage of it and get to Matt Stafford. Alabama's strength is their offensive line and that has led to a pleasant surprise of Bama runningback Glen Coffee. Bama also has the best wide receiver in the country in true freshman Julio Jones. Georgia can go with the black out/ white out/ red out that is not going to matter on Saturday night, Bama has this game.

Bama 21-17

The second game is (2) Oklahoma vs (24) TCU

I am going to take Oklahoma in this game. Oklahoma has a 24 game home winning streak and has a chance to be the number 1 team in the nation. TCU has a good offensive line, Oklahoma's is better. TCU has Andy Dalton throwing the ball, but Oklahoma's Sam Bradford is better. TCU would have to play flawless to have a chance to upend Oklahoma, and I just don't see that happening.

Oklahoma 35-13

(12) Penn State vs (22) Illinois

This was a really tough decision for me because I do like Juice Williams, but the ultimate decision came down to me always rooting for JoePa. The Lions offense has been out of control and that has led to the biggest scoring differential of 42.8 points. Their defense is outstanding and that leads to a long game for the Fighting Illini.

Penn State 45 to 21

And the non top 25 game

Viginia Tech vs Nebraska

Expect a huge game from Tyrod Tyler, even though he has a hurt ankle. Nebraska is 3-0 but they have played no one so far. Tech's defense is amazing.

V-tech 35-17

The 4 Best College Football Picks From NOLA

(1) USC vs (5) Ohio State

Instead of telling you what USC has, I will tell you what Ohio State doesn't have. A Heisman candidate runningback, a consistent QB, a better back-up QB than the starting QB, and a consistent vertical threat. All of these things added up together is an equation for a huge blow-out by USC.

Score 42-10 USC

(2) Georgia vs South Carolina

Last year head ball coach's Gamecocks upset a strong Georgia team and this year will be no different. Sike. Georgia is too strong to lose this early in the season to a weak SEC opponent. Knowshon Moreno does not only have one of the coolest names in college football he is also the best runningback in college football. Last week he rushed for 168 yards on 18 carries and this week I am expecting him to eclipse the 200 yard mark.

35-14 Georgia

(10) Wisconsin vs (21) Fresno State

Quarterback Allan Evridge has been a huge asset to Wisconsin since transfering from K-State. Last week he passed for 308 yards against Marshall. However, I don't think Evridge will be the reason they win this game, it will be runningback PJ Hill. Even though PJ is only averaging 3.2 yards per carry I expect this will be a break-out game for him.

Oh yea, that shitty other game.

Michigan vs Notre Dame

I hate Charlie Weis more than I hate Rich Rodriguez. Both of these teams suck. Michigan will win.
21-10 Michigan

Let the good times roll Dana.

My record is 3-4

My Problem With BCS

Every single year there is certain controversy when it comes to college football this year it happened after week 1. I just don't see how USC can jump two spots to be the number 1 spot after Georgia and Ohio State both took care of business. USC beat Virginia, Georgia beat Georgia Southern, and Ohio State beat Youngstown State and I guess Virginia is the most worthy opponent out of those three, but Virginia isn't anything special. I believe the top teams should stay as is until there is a loss or until they beat a ranked opponent. Another option is to not start rankings until week three as well.

On another note; USC did look extremely impressive in their first game. And my bold prediction will be that USC will play Alabama in the championship game.

Georgia's Unreal Turnaround

I just wanted to write in and say what a cool story the University of Georgia making the NCAA Tourney is cause they won their SEC Tourney. Georgia went 13-16 during the season including 4-12 In the SEC. At one point they lost eleven games in a row. Ok big deal right? Well it sticks out to me cause about a week ago I read this really good piece on them on ESPN that detailed how their coach was a virtual goner after the year because they simply weren't winning enough games, and how they built this 30 million dollar practice facility, all this stuff. Well, there is a lot of background stuff here. Seems the coach took over that weasel Jim Harrick, who got himself fired for the 2nd time from a college for creating a huge scandal of paying players money, arranging easy exams, etc. This was after he lied about expense reports at UCLA that got him fired, and how he left URI in the dust after being involved in a sex scandal with his secretary, among other things (how they got Lamar Odom deserves its own column). So they brought this guy Dennis Felton in as coach. He cleaned up the program, and actually implemented a new academic standard program for his players, making numerous tutoring and study hall sessions mandatory, as well as advisement sessions. In fact it was so stringent fellow coaches whispered in the SEC it would doom Felton cause it was too strict. Yet Georgia ran a good clean program, and actually made 19-14 last year and made the NIT. With four starters returning things looked really good. Yet, there two best players didn't make the cut to these new standards this year, so Felton booted them off the team. Two more went down with season ending injuries, and one more quit cause he felt he wasn't getting enough playing time. This left Georgia with 9 available players for the SEC Tourney. They then not only go out and win this thing, but yesterday had to play 2 games in one day and won them both, with the 1st game going into a grueling OT clash with Kentucky. Now they are going to the Tourney, and Felton's job is saved. Good for him, it shows doing the right thing in life sometimes gets rewarded. I don't know how far Georgia can go in the Tourney, but I am certainly rooting for them, how can you not? By the way, also root for Coppin State, the 1st 20 loss team to ever make the tournament, and at one point was 2-19!!!!!!!! Unreal..........
