Yesterdays Games
64 Michigan State, 52 Louisville

As part of the Dave Pearce fuckfest Michigan State decided to beat Louisville to knock my second finals team out of the tournament. Goran Suton had 19 points and 10 rebounds as the second seeded Spartans played the game at their pace and reached its fifth final four in the past 11 years. Michigan State played incredible man to man defense the whole game and led to an amazing zero fast break points for Louisville. Also, be careful Tom Izzo, Magic is trying to give you AIDS!
72 UNC, 60 Oklahoma
UNC advances, so that means I get to watch more clips of Beaker. It came pretty apparent that Oklahoma is a one man band with Blake Griffen. Griffen had another amazing game scoring 23 points and having 16 boards, but that wasn't enough for the total team effort of UNC. Ty Lawson had 19, Danny Green had 18 and Deon Thompson had 10. Beaker, I mean Tyler Hansbrough only had 8 due to foul trouble. But as of right now, UNC looks like the team to beat in the tournament.

I Guess Arizona Does Belong

Arizona was one of the most controversial teams coming into the tournament because their record was unimpressive, and they weren't that good in general. But after knocking off favorite Utah and Cinderella, Cleveland State, it looks as if Arizona gave everyone a big fuck you. Yesterday, Arizona showed how dominant they can be when all cylinders are clicking. 4 of their 5 starters were in double figures led by Nic Wise with 21, and if I were Louisville, I would take this game serious, and not take the Pittsburgh approach to this game. Louisville gave us a little scare yesterday against the feisty Siena team and really hasn't instilled that much confidence in me this tourney. I'm not going to go as far as saying that the number 1 ranked Louisville will be the first to seed to be knocked out, but I wouldn't put it past Arizona to do it.

#1 UConn 68, #7 Louisville 52

Jeff Adrien scored 18 points and grabbed seven boards and UConn celebrated their return to number 1 in the polls for the first time in three years with a 68-51 crushing of the number 7 ranked Louisville. Jerome Dyson had 14 points and A.J. Price had 11 points, eight rebounds and three assists as played great defense against a normally hot handed Cardinals team. The future number 1 pick Hasheem Thabeet dominated as he scored 14 points, 11 rebounds and four blocks.
I hate UConn but you have to give this team some props as they actually deserved the number 1 spot, unlike the Duke and Wake. However, UConn does this all the time. They come out and surprise everyone to jump on the band wagon, then simply don't try come tournament time. Expect a third round loss by Duke in March.
