Why Not?

Why not watch Mark Buehrle's amazing play. I know we have all seen it, but it might be the best play of the year already.

Breaking News: Mark Buehrle Throws Perfect Game

Mark Buehrle who threw a no hitter in 2007 has one uped himself today throwing a perfect game against the Rays today. You see a couple no hitters every year, but you don't see too many perfect game. What made this great is that DeWayne Wise had to make a diving catch to stop Gabe Kapler from wrecking the perfect game.

Buehrle's final stat line was 9 innings 0 hits 0 walks 6 Ks. Not a bad day for a team that really needed some kind of spark like this. I have always been a big Buehrle fan, and thus this is a proud day for me....

Mark Buehrle To Cardinals?

There have been many reports that the Cardinals are after Roy Halladay, but if the asking price is too high they might turn their focus to Mark Buehrle...

"As Mark Buehrle told local reporters last night, being a Cardinal is still a dream for the local native. Reports the Post-Dispatch, Buehrle "reiterated a career wish that has got him in trouble before with the Chicago White Sox and the South Side faithful: He wants to be a Cardinal." "If I could just put a Cardinals jersey on for one day, throw one pitch," Buehrle said. "That would just be a dream come true (ESPN)."

If you put Buehrle in the NL I think he would be fantastic. The best part is that the asking price would be a whole lot less then what the Jays are asking for Halladay (reportedly 3 high level prospects and cash). If I was the Cardinals I would kick the tires on this and see what the White Sox are asking for, and if I was the White Sox I would start to try to get rid of some of these aging, big contract players.

Red Sox Lose to White Sox 5-3

Lester streak of no losses for the past 2 1/2 months is officially over, though he still pitched well. The problem was Mark Buehrle pitched a much better game. Buehrle went an impressive 7 innings allowing only 1 run on 4 hits with 8 Ks. The Sox were down 4-0 going into the 8th, but made a nice comeback on a 3-run homer by Little Dusty. The good-times wouldn't last as in the bottom of the inning Delcarman came in and let up an absolute bomb to Carlos Quentin (MVP?) to put the Sox down by two runs, and that s how it ended. The Sox are now 3.5 games back of the Rays for 1st place in the AL East and only a 1.5 up on the Twins for the Wild Card spot. I'll be honest I am getting nervous, because the Sox really need Ortiz to wake up and get it going. I know he is having a tough time without Manny, but if he wants to be remembered as one of the best Red Sox ever he is going to have to pick up with team, even when he doesn't have the protection of Manny Ramirez.
