Kiper Says Colt McCoy is 2nd Round Pick

There has been a lot of backlash against Kiper today for saying McCoy is probably a 2nd round pick in the next NFL Draft. I would love to join the bandwagon and say that he is fucking insane, but I can't McCoy has regressed this year, and even though I chalk some of that up to the changing of personnel, you still can't say he is nearly as good as he was last year. Don't get me wrong I think McCoy is going to have a bright future in the NFL, but with all the talent that will be coming out in this years draft (which I think could be the best in a long time) he could fall to an early 2nd round pick.

Rams Will Go QB In Draft

Not that anyone should be shocked by this since Bulger sucks, but...

"Heading on a crash course to have at least a top five pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the St. Louis Rams will be eyeing this weekend's Red River Showdown between Texas and Oklahoma intently. After all, they'll likely be looking to take Colt McCoy, Sam Bradford or another top-flight college QB with their first round pick next April (Adam Schefter)."

There are some great QBs coming out in the next draft. As of right now Kiper has them rated like this...

1. Sam Bradford, Oklahoma
2. Jake Locker, Washington
3. Colt McCoy, Texas
4. Jimmy Clausen, Notre Dame
5. Tony Pike, Cincinnati

Guess he is not a Tebow fan either. Bradford I think will stick around another year after his injury. I personally am a big Colt McCoy fan, but I will admit I don't know much about Jake Locker (but now I will be reading up on him). Anyways, it is time for the Rams to start the search for a top QB. They have passed up guys like Flacco and Ryan in the past, and they are never going to get out from the bottom of the NFL without a good young QB to lead the way...

Kiper Hates Cutler

I usually love Mel Kiper. I think he does an amazing job with the NFL draft, but I think he is dead wrong when it goes to Jay Cutler.

"Kiper says Cassel would have been an "upgrade" over Cutler and that Cutler is, to put it mildly, overrated. "[Cutler] throws one pass, he's a Hall of Famer," Kiper says. "I've seen the media put him in the Hall of Fame. I had to run to the bathroom quick. It was making me ill. I've been hearing this overhype. "This guy was overhyped at the combine, he was overhyped at Senior Bowl week, he's been overhyped before he was drafted. The media, they love Jay Cutler. Jay Cutler can do no wrong. I've been saying he's overrated since day one. Everyone's been pounding their chests saying, 'Oh, I love Jay Cutler, I'm a genius.' They have egg on their face now (ESPN)."

There are probably a lot of people that agree with Kiper, and I can see why. Kiper knows his shit, but I'm sticking by my boy here. Cutler has not lost because he was bad. He has had losing seasons, because they refuse to put any kind of defense on the field. On top of that, they never settle on any kind of running back. I see Cutler like how I saw a young Favre. He has a great arm, and can win you games, there will be times that he costs you games, but overall few guys can do what he does. I wish Cutler the best, and hope Kiper is wrong...

Kiper Loves Cassel

"ESPN draft guru Mel Kiper said yesterday during a conference call with the media that trading for Cassel would be a wiser decision for Detroit and Kansas City, which hold the No. 1 and No. 3 picks respectively in April’s draft, and can each use help at quarterback. “If I were Detroit or Kansas City, I would make that move in a heartbeat,” Kiper said. “If you’re asking me if I would rather have Matt Cassel or Matthew Stafford or Mark Sanchez, I’d rather have Matt Cassel (Boston Herald).”

The QBs in this year draft suck, and Kiper knows it. If these two teams really need a QB that bad, then they should go after Cassel rather then dealing with these shitty QBs. Still, if I was the Lions/KC I would just not draft a QB and deal with what I had. Detroit has not even given Drew Stanton a shot (who was a 2nd round pick), and I think Thigpen (KC) doesn't get enough credit for what he showed at the end of last season. Sorry there is no Matt Ryan this year.

I would love to see the Patriots get a deal done, so they could pick up another top defensive player in the draft. It would be an absolute steal on their part, because if Brady is healthy there is no need for Cassel.
