NFL Breakdowns: Playoff Match Ups

Seattle vs New Orleans

The 7-9, yes 7-9 Seattle Seahawks host the reigning Superbowl Champion New Orleans Saints.

That should really be the only thing I should write about the game, but I can't be lazy. New Orleans hasn't been playing as well as last year on both sides of the ball. Drew Brees has been off this year, the running game lacks and the defense hasn't been as opportunistic as they were. With that being said, Seattle is awful and sucks and New Orleans should handle them pretty easily.

Winner: Saints

Green Bay vs Eagles
I don't know who to root for in this game. I like Vick's explosive plays but I want to see BMack's old man happy. The Packers are the most dangerous 6 seed probably ever. They have a healthy defense and a good offense, the only thing is the lack of a running game. Time possession will be key in this game, and that could be the Packers achillies heel. Also, mike Vick hasn't been playing that well recently, and if the Packers Blitzing D can wrangle Vick and stop the big play Green bay should win.

Winner: Packers

Jets vs Colts
Peyton manning can only take a team so far. It's really impressive what he was able to do this year without a healthy team. I was thinking of the Brady vs Manning debate and the main difference is coaching, I think Brady and Bellichick are a package deal which means that I really think Brady's performance would go down significantly without Bill where in Manning's case coaches can be interchangeable without making that much a difference. Either way, both are amazing. But in this case, I don't think Manning and his team will be able to hold it together against the Jets.

Winner: Jets

KC vs Baltimore
I like what the Chiefs have been able to do this year. It's impressive, however, I think the Ravens are just a better team. They are more physical, have a better running game, and Ed Reed who had 8 picks and 10 games. I think this is an open and shut case.

Winner: Ravens

Around The NFL: Has Anyone Seen The Giants?

45 Packers, 17 Giants

ShEli and her amazing turnover rate has been remarkable as she threw 4 more interceptions bringing her total to a league leading 24 on the season. Meanwhile her counterpart Aaron Rodgers was on his game as he torched the Giants offense for 404 yards and 4 TDs. Now if the Packers win their in against Division Champion Chicago next week, as for the Giants, they are in trouble.

38 Chicago, 34 Jets
Boy the jets have limped into the playoffs. The Jets (10-5) clinched their second straight postseason trip under Ryan when Jacksonville lost 20-17 in overtime to Washington. Rex Ryan gave a very Jets response while addressing the media, "By the way, I think we're in the playoffs," he said. "Not the way I wanted it, but I'll take it." The Jets have their work cut out for them as they have lost 3 of 4. I'm not a believer of the Bears, so whatever.

38 Bucs, 15 Seattle
Josh Freeman cut the Seahawks up like a Thanksgiving Turkey as he threw for 5 TDs and 0 picks. The kid has really came into his own this year as he has an impressive 23 TDs and only 6 Ints.

34 Bengals, 20 Chargers
So much for the Chargers being a potentially dangerous team? The Bengals without Ochocinco and TO ruined the Chargers playoff chances and Carson Palmer threw 4 TDs and 0 picks, maybe that could be a potential formula for next year.

34 KC, 14 Titans
The Titans just look awful, but it's cool to see Cassel and the Chiefs make the playoffs. Todd Haley could be in the Coach of The Year talk as the Chiefs went from worst to first.

25 St. Louis, 17 SF
Well the Rams at (7-8) are probably going to the playoffs and SF just fired their head coach.

That's it.

NFL Recaps: Big Ben Is The Greatest Man and Quarterback That Has Ever Lived

13 Pittsburgh, 10 Baltimore

In the best rivalry in football, Ben Roethlisberger was able to shake off a broken foot, a broken nose, and 1 offensive lineman from the start of the season, no tight ends on the depth chart were playing and he still found a legendary way to win this game. Troy Polomalu once again made the big defensive play with the Steelers down 10-6, and thats all Ben needed as he hit 3rd string running back Isaac Redmond for the win.

And if anyone doesn't think there is an anti Steelers bias with the officiating see Heath Millers decapitation and Ben Roethlisbergers nose. If that was James Harrison he would have been thrown out of the game and fined a million dollars.

See Peyton, that's how you win despite injuries.

38 Cowboys, 35 Indy
yes, they have injuries but Peyton manning has been doing his best Jay Cutler impression the last 3 weeks as he has totaled 11 picks in that span. Maybe the Manning factor isn't as strong as we thought. Does this mean Dallas is good? Kitna for life.

34 Who Dat, 30 Cincy
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. The Bengals literally pissed this game away as the Saints were able to draw the Bengals offsides on a 4th and 1 on the Bengals 3 yard line with 30 seconds left. This led to an easy touchdown from Drew Breesus to Maques Colston for the win.

34 Packers, 16 49ers
Aaron Rodgers continuously beats teams he should as he picked apart the 49ers to the beat of 21/30 for 298 yards and 3 picks.

24 Bears, 20 Lions
K and Chicago can thank this win for an awful call. The Bears win but are huge frauds.

28 Raiders, 13 San Diego
Now I don't know what to think. Are the Raiders good or is San Diego bad? This game confused and scared me a little.

28 Atl, 24 TB
Matt Ryan has the clutch gene. It sucks too because I was really pulling for TB. It should be a great late season game between New Orleans and Tampa Bay. Josh Freeman is still the man.

Those are all the games I care about.

Tonights game prediction:

31- 17 Patriots.

Around The NFL: San Diego, The Super Chargers

36 San Diego, 14 Colts

I'm sick of the Colts excuses. Even though Peyton Manning and the Colts have never said it, I'm sick of the media making excuses for the Colts. Another thing is why the media is making this San Diego team different from any other San Diego team, yes, they are going to go on a run, but they need to prove they can do it in the playoffs.

20 Atlanta, 17 Green Bay Packers
We learned 2 things this game. The falcons are for real, the Packers not so much. This game could have elevated the Packers to the elite, now they are looking up at the Bears and Falcons. Aaron Rodgers has good numbers, but lacks the clutch factor. Unfortunately for the Pack, Matt Ryan does as he drove the Falcons down the field for the game winning field goal kick.

31 Bears, 26 Philly
I don't know whats more impressive, Jay Cutlers 4 TDs or the fact the Bears contained Michael Vick. Vick threw for 333 yards but 1 pick (his 1st in 4 years) but the Bears defense is for real, and I guess the Bears are too.

20 Texans, 0 Tennessee

Andre Johnson got a little punchy. Even NHL players would be afraid to fight Andre Johnson after seeing those haymakers.

Oh yea, he still got the game ball.

17 Ravens, 10 Tampa Bay
Everyone has to root for Rahiem Morris and the Bucs. However, the Ravens beat them and the Bucs need to beat a good team to be elite. But are still in the hunt.

19 Pittsburgh, 16 Buffalo
Pittsburgh destroyed Buffalo through and through. They played great defense on Steve Johnson, and Ben proved again that he's a 2 time Superbowl champion and a winner.

36 St. Louis, 33 Denver
Hey St. Louis is in 1st place and will probably get home field for the first game in the playoffs.

KC took care of business against Seattle

Cleveland Browns aka Peyton Hillis beat Carolina

I hate the Giants and Minnesota. (fart noise)

Around The NFL: ShEli Is Who We Thought She Was

27 Eagles, 17 New York Giants

Vick didn't put up a historically great game again, but ShEli had a historically bad game. She had 4 turnovers by herself but the killer was a lost fumble after running for a first down on fourth-and-6 with 2:51 left, that the Eagles recovered. ShEli scrambled 16 yards and dove headfirst, but the ball came loose when he hit the ground untouched. Darryl Tapp recovered.

He has such a stupid face and stupid ass Manningface.

30 Jets, 27 Texans
Boy the Jets have a knack for the dramatic. Santonio Holmes caught a 6-yard touchdown pass from Mark Sanchez with 10 seconds left, lifting the Jets to an unlikely 30-27 comeback victory over the Houston Texans on Sunday. Good for them, everyone has to root for Sexy Rexy and the Jets.

19 Redskins, 16 Titans
Ugly game and we may have seen the end of Vince Young in Tennessee as he had a hissy fit and threw his pads in the stands. Donovan McNabb was 30 of 50 for 376 yards with a touchdown pass, and Graham Gano kicked a 48-yard field goal, his fourth of the game, with 8:17 left in overtime as the Redskins beat the Tennessee Titans 19-16 in overtime Sunday.

31 Packers, 3 Vikings
Bob and his old mans favorite team made Brett Favre's last game against his former team an experience, but in an awful way. Brett Favre, who threw a career-low seven interceptions last season, has 17 of them this year. As for his counterpart Aaron Rodgers, he had a near perfect game as he torched the Vikings secondary as if they played in New England, with going 22 for 31 for 301 yards, with three of his four touchdown passes going to Greg Jennings. Rodgers needed a statement game after all the optimism surrounding the Packers this offseason and it was good to see him get it against Favre.

35 Steelers, 3 Oakland

For all the cheep shots! Ben Roethlisberger got sucker punched by former Patriot Richard Seymour (probably Belichick's doing) after poor Ben was just telling his team to get ready for the extra point. Seymour got thrown out of the game (which he deserved) but he deserves to get suspended for next game and fined 75k. That stuff can't happen in a game. The NFL should be ashamed of itself.

34 Atlanta, 17 St. Louis
Hey the Falcons are for real! But I don't want to hear it, they are in the NFC and don't have Michael Vick on their team. Matt Ryan was 26 of 39 for 253 yards with touchdown passes to Brian Finneran and Justin Peelle, and Roddy White set up scores with nine catches for 83 yards.

21 Tampa bay, 0 SF
I can't believe Josh freeman has led the Bucs to be 7-3, pretty awesome stuff. SF is awful.

I'm done writing about the rest of the games, if I left your team out it probably means that they and you suck.

Monday, November 15, 2010

Around The NFL: Dallas?

33 Cowboys, 20 Giants

Could the change of coach make this much of a difference, or are the Giants just frauds? Time will tell, but a good win for Jason Garrett and the Cowboys. Kitna was on with 3 TDs and Dez Bryant had his coming out party as he had over 100 yards and a score. ShEli had an awful game as he threw 2 killer INTs and a fumble....Typical.

27 Chicago, 13 Vikings
Could this be the loss that gets Brad Childress fired? Well, probably not as the owner said he'd stick with the controversial coach. Brett Favre turned into who we thought he was as he threw 3 picks and a fumble lost.

26 Jets, 20 Browns
They needed another overtime but a win is a win. In the Ryan bowl, Sexy Rexy and the Jets took OT to under a minute but a pass to Santonio Holmes and a clever run after the catch took care of the Browns. The Jets are tied for best record in the NFL, and the Browns are impressing.

23 Colts, 17 Bengals
I'm sick of talking about the Bengals. they are losers, Carson Palmer is a loser, Ocho is a loser and TO is a loser.

31 Buccaneers, 16 Panthers
The Bucs are 6-3 and are one of the best stories in the NFL. Josh Freeman is having a hell of a season and plaing mistake free football. Freeman had 2 TDs. everyone has to be rooting for the Bucs.

29 Miami, 17 Titans
I can't quite put my finger on either of these teams. Everytime I think the Titans are good they lose Vince Young and look awful and whenever I count the Dolphins out they prove me wrong. Randy Moss was targeted 4 times, but only had 1 catch for 26 yards. But they lost Chad henne (for his career) and Chad Pennington, that could hurt.

31 Jacksonville, 24 Texans
I think the Jaguars suck, I think David Garrard sucks but hey, they are 5-4. The play of the week was David Garrard bombing a hail mary at the end of the game and the pass got deflected into Mike Thomas' hands. Great win, great game.

49 Denver, 29 Chiefs
Could this win be a turning point for Josh McDaniels? A much needed win for the Broncos. And a little controversy at the end of it as Todd Haley believed McDaniels ran up the score. Newsflash, this is professional football, put a helmet on and shut up.

I don't care about Seattle/ Arizona, SF/ St. Louis so I'm not going to tell you who won.

Monday, November 8, 2010

Around The NFL: The Raiders?

23 Oakland, 20 Kansas City

The Raiders have won 3 in a row and 5-4, so the question that needs to be asked, Are the Oakland Raiders for real? The run game has been more than efficient, the defense is playing solid, and Jason Campbell is playing pretty well. Yesterday was a big match up for the AFC west when the Chiefs played the Raiders and it took until overtime, but the Raiders were able to pull it off with a late field goal.

29 Chargers, 23 Texans
This was a big game for the Texans, who lost to the colts a week earlier and really needed to win this game to not fall into mediocrity once again. However, it's about that time that the San Diego Chargers pull off a run and win 8 in a row to make the playoffs. I'm not a big Phillip Rivers fan, but you have to give it to him, he has made something out of nothing this whole season and basically his whole career. No Antonio gates, No Vincent Jackson, no problem. The boy still threw for 4 TDs and close to 300 yards.

23 Jets, 20 Lions
The Jets took over the lead for the AFC East thanks to an overtime win against Detroit. You can also thank Julian Peterson for that too, who may have made the biggest dummy play as he late hit Ladainian Tomlinson with time running out in regulation. That penalty essentially put the Jets in field goal range.

41 Giants, 7 Seahawks
the Giants are playing well...

45 Green Bay, 7 Cowboys
This is from Jerry Jones: "I've got a lot of work to do. I've got a lot of decisions to make and it's not just one, two, three or four," Jones said. "There's several decisions. I think everybody in this country would agree, there's a lot wrong with this team that I've got to address and certainly I'm the one to address it."

I hope he cuts the whole team.

34 New Orleans, 3 Panthers
Yea, the Panthers are bad. New Orleans seems to be getting it together again. Still not enough Devery though.

27 Atlanta, 21 Buccaneers
Some bad clock management cost the Bucs the game, but they did have a chance to win this game. I like the Bucs, I want the Bucs to win, and I wish they ran Freeman up the middle instead of an off tackle to Blount.

26 Eagles, 24 Colts
Vick makes this team better, Kolb blows. And the injuries finally caught up with Colts. Vick threw for 218 yards and one touchdown and ran for 74 yards and a score enough said.

Around The NFL: I Get By With A Little Help From The Refs

23 Steelers, 22 Dolphins

Rule 15
Officials: Jurisdiction and Duties
Section 9 Instant Replay
Reviewable Plays
section (c) Other reviewable plays:
under Note 2: "If the Referee does not have indisputable visual evidence as to which player recovered the loose ball, the ruling on the field will stand."

Big Ben continues to be the best pressure QB in the league... Next

30 Browns, 17 Saints????
I know it's shocking. Drew Breesus did not wake up on the right side of the bed yesterday as he hoisted 4 picks and seemingly made every wrong read. Big win for the Browns, I guess they aren't as bad as the Captain said they were.

37 Titans, 19 Eagles

Here are Kevin Kolbs stats 26/48 231 yards 1 TD and 2 Picks.

This is what Mike Vick's stats would have been: 40/48 for 398 yards and 4 TDs, and 13 rushs for 113 yards and a TD.

Tough to make a case for Kolb.

17 Washington, 14 Chicago
The Bears are getting exposed as frauds (K) as Cutlerfuck throws his 7th int. Washington is now 4 and 3.

23 Carolina, 20 49ers
I tried to defend Mike Singeltary but losing to the Panthers is unacceptable. I think he should finish out the season, but no way he can return. This team is a mess.

42 Chiefs, 20 Jaguars
Maybe the Chiefs should be taken a little bit more seriously than I take them. Matt Cassel has been playing well and threw 2 scores. Him and Dwayne Bowe have been developing great chemistry for that offense.

18 Tampa Bay, 17 Rams
Josh Freeman is getting a couple more looks as somehow the Bucs are 4-2. I don't take them that seriously but this is great progress for the 2nd year QB.

37 Baltimore, 34 Buffalo????
Another strange score this week as it took overtime to beat the lowly Bills. Ryan Fitzpatrick's line was 374 YDS, 4 TD, 2 IN. Against that Baltimore defense that's pretty crazy.

59 Oakland, 14 Denver????
Again, another crazy score. Darren McFadden had a break out game with 16 carries for 165 yards and 3 TDs, and another one receiving. Jason Campbell is earning his job as he threw 2 more TDs.

28 packers, 24 Vikings
Aaron Rodgers finally won a close game and he can thank Brett Favre's pick 6 for the win. This was a much needed win for struggling Green Bay. Green Bay has yet to impress me.

Monday, September 20, 2010

NFL Recaps: Mike Vick Is The Man

35 Eagles, 32 Lions
Mike Vick had was 21 of 34 -- connecting with nine teammates -- for 284 yards with two TDs, ran for 37 yards. There is no doubt that he should be the starting QB of the Eagles, sorry Kolb your done. On another not Jahvid Best is the greatest player of all time.

19 Pittsburgh, 11 Tennessee
Vince Young didn't have his magic and Pittsburgh's defense has looked better than ever. They are 2-0 without big Ben, and will be very scary once he does come back.

15 Cincinnati, 10 Ravens
Despite what Ray Lewis has to say:

Cincy has won 9 straight AFC North games and even though they didn't get one TD yesterday and 5 field goals, they will be fighting the good fight til the end. Maybe we overrated the Ravens a little?

14 Dolphins, 10 Vikings
HAHAHA Fuck Favre, fuck Panic for liking him. Favre had 4 awful turnovers that doomed the team. He looked his age, and the fun has all but stopped. I hope they lose every game.

27 Chicago, 20 Dallas
BMack was maybe on to something when he said they went 8-8. Dallas lost to Cutlerfuck and the Bears, who if you haven't been paying attention, have the best offense in the NFL. My prediction is that Wade Phillips is fired this week or next.

30 Houston, 27 Washington
Houston won a wild one Sunday, a game that produced nearly 1,000 yards of offense and wasn't done until Neil Rackers kicked a 35-yard field goal with 3:24 left in the extra period. Houston came back from a 17 point deficit.

Oh yea if you didn't hear.

The "Manning Bowl" went to Peyton, you know, because he's much better.

God now that that's over:

Monday, November 23, 2009

NFL Recaps: The Steelers Really Lost To The Chiefs?

27 Chiefs, 24 Steelers
Ben got hurt in overtime, but it should never have came to overtime. The Steelers laid an egg for the second straight week. Matt Cassel hit Chris Chambers for a 61 yard strike and that's all the Chiefs needed to kick the easy field goal.

17 Indy, 15 Baltimore
Fuck this game. This game lost us a lot of money yesterday. Don't want to talk about it.

7 Dallas, 6 Washington
Awful game. Hit Patrick Crayton at the end of the game to achieve the 7 to 6 score.

38 New Orleans, 7 Tampa Bay
10-0 and have the Patriots coming into town next week. Drew Brees threw 3 TDs, as the Saints coasted the rest of the game.

34 Giants, 31 Falcons
ShEli didn't have a bad game as he threw for 384 yards and 3 TDs. The Falcons have been in a tailspin.

35 Vikings, 9 Seattle
This is the game we wish we bet on. Favre had a near perfect game as he went 22/25 and 4 TDs.

38 Detroit, 37 Cleveland
Two of the worst cities faced off for a barn burner. Matt Stafford threw a TD pass with 00.0 on the clock to pull off the victory.

21 Arizona, 13 Rams
Kurt Warner got injured after throwing 2 TDs, then Arizona essentially ran the clock out from there on.

20 Oakland, 17 Bengals
Those silly Raiders and Bengals. Oakland has now beat two good teams in Philly and now Cincy. As a Steeler fan this game bailed the Steelers out.

24 Philly, 20 Chicago
The Eagles are a real fun team to watch. Desean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin must be the two fastest wide receiver duo.

Monday, November 9, 2009

NFL Recaps: Who Dat?

30 New Orleans, 20 Carolina
Carolina had their shot when they had the a 14-0 lead in the first, but turnovers and a just terrible quarterback destroyed it all. The Saints defense now has 2 more touchdowns than the Browns offense.

20 Indianapolis, 17 Houston
Peyton Manning threw 40 times in the first half, Dallas Clark had 14 receptions. The Texans could have had this game, however Kris Brown missed a potential game tying kick with no time left.

41 Arizona, 21 Chicago
Kurt Warner exposed the Bears secondary as he lit them up for 5 touchdowns.

38 Tampa Bay, 28 Green Bay
My boy Josh Freeman led the Bucs to their first win against the underachieving Packers with 3 TDs, while the QB in Green Bay threw 3 picks, this loss has to hurt a preseason playoff team.

21 San Diego, 20 Giants
Phillip Rivers (who was traded for ShEli 5 years ago) led the Chargers on a 80 yard drive with 21 seconds left. Meanwhile the Giants have lost 3 games in a row. I love it.

17 Cincinnati, 7 Ravens
Bengals are poised to be called a legit playoff team. The Ravens are the second biggest fraud team in the NFL behind the Packers. That defense is not the same and can't stop anyone.

34 Titans, 27 49ers
Vince Young is 2-0 as a starter. Coincidence, I think not.

Monday, October 26, 2009

NFL Recaps: Purple Machine Silenced

27 Steelers, 17 Vikings
Brett Favre literally handed this game over with a fumble returned for a 77 yard score by LaMarr Woodley and a 82 yard int returned for a Keyaron Fox score. The Vikings need to start relying more on AP more and less on Favre.

New Orleans 46, Miami 34
How the fuck did the Dolphins manage to blow a 21 point lead? The Wildcat may sure be fun to watch, but it never seems to get the Dolphins to win games. Drew Brees threw 3 picks, fumbled once and was sacked 5 times, yet New Orleans is still dancing.

24 Houston, 21 San Fransisco
Steve Slaton scored two touchdowns and the Texans built a big lead before holding on for a 24-21 win over the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday. What's really concerning is Andre Johnson's health, if he goes down H Town could be in trouble.

Green Bay 31, Cleveland 3
Aaron Rodgers carved the Cleveland secondary up like a thanksgiving turkey. Ryan Grant had a must need 100+ yard game on the ground too.

37 San Diego, 7 Kansas City
Philip Rivers threw for 268 yards and three TDs to help the Chargers end a two-game losing skid and win their fourth straight against the Chiefs. Rivers has thrown for more than 250 yards in all six games this season and has seven TDs and no INTs in his last three games.

42 Indianapolis, 6 St. Louis
In my eye's the Colts are the scariest team in the NFL. They are seemingly flying under the radar, and Manning is having an MVP type season.

NY Jets 38, Oakland 0
How did Oakland beat Philly last week. Jamarcus got Jabenched in the second half.

Buffalo 20, Carolina 9
Why is Jake Delhomme still starting? The guy has 4 TDs and 13 Ints.

Atlanta 21, Dallas 37
Miles Austin, in his second career start, had six catches for 171 yards and two TDs. In the last two games, Austin has 16 catches for 421 yards and four touchdowns. Anyone know where this dude came from?

Zona 24, NY Giants 17
I said Pandora's box was going to be opened after the Saints showed the blueprint on how to beat the G-MEN. Also, ShEli looked like the ShEli we all know throwing 3 terrible picks and making bad reads all game. Ewww.

Monday, October 19, 2009

NFL Recaps: Who Dat?

48 Saints, 27 Giants
So much for the number 1 defense and the unstoppable offense. The Saints not only beat the Giants into submission, they proved they are for real. Drew Brees threw for 4 TDs, and seven different Saints all scored.

27 Steelers, 17 Browns
Big Ben is still having his way with teams as he threw 23-35, 417 yds, 2 tds. The Browns on the other hand just looked awful.

28 Texans, 17 Bengals
Thank God, enough of the Bengals. Matt Schaub was another qb that had a monster day going 28-40, 392 yds, 4 tds.

33 Vikings, 31 Ravens
Fucking Brett Favre, I want to say bad things about him but going 21-29, 278 yds, 3 tds really doesn't give me any ammo. The Ravens could have won this game if BMack's boy and Needham's last hope Steve Hauschka shank a late FG.

13 Raiders, 9 Eagles
WTF Eagles? How do you expect anyone to respect you when you drop a game against Oakland? I'm surprised the Philly crowd hasn't broke into an angry mob for Donovan McNabb's head.

16 Bills, 13 Jets

Mark Sanchez threw 5 picks, but boy is he dreamy.

21 Falcons, 14 Bears

Who cares? Matt Ryan threw 2 TDs and most likely beat me in fantasy football. Shucks.

Monday, October 5, 2009

NFL Recaps: Denver Is 4-0?

Denver 17, Dallas 10

The defense has been playing outstanding, and Kyle Orton has been managing games terrifically. Hey, that Brandon Marshall play was pretty terrific.

New England 27, Baltimore 21

Another game that the Pats could have lost. If Mark Clayton didn't drop a big pass at the end and if the refs didn't call two terrible roughing the passer plays on Brady leading to scores the Pats would have lost this game. On a better note, this was by far Tom Brady's best game.

Pittsburgh 38, San Diego 28

The Steelers were up 28-0 at one point. Big Ben and Rashard Mendenhall had huge games.

New Orleans 24, New York Jets 10

The Saints defense has been nothing short of great this year as they made Mark Sanchez look human. However, he's still dreaming.

NY Giants 27, Kansas City 16

ShEli had a good game, and looks like Steve Smith is the real deal. The Chiefs are terrible.

San Fransisco 35, St. Louis 0

San Fransisco's defense has been great and Shaun Hill's been a very effective starter. St. Louis on the other hand, makes me want to throw up.

Washington 16, Tampa Bay 13

Yawn. Bore snore.

Jacksonville 37, Tennessee 17

What happened Titans? I'm pretty sure it's Vince Young time.

Indianapolis 34, Seattle 17

Is Peyton Manning better than he was 4 or 5 years ago. There is not a better play caller in the NFL than older brother.

Monday, September 28, 2009

NFL Recaps: Superbowl Hangover Anyone?

23 Bengals, 20 Steelers
The Steelers have now lost two games on last second drives, putting them at 1-2 for the year. Ben did alright, Willie Parker had a good game, but the defense isn't the same without Troy Polomalu. As for the Bengals, they are 2-1 and most likely should be 3-0 if that incident in Denver didn't happen.

19 Lions, 14 Redskins

Losing streak over, Lions finally win one. Bye bye Jim Zorn.

26 New England, 10 Atlanta

Tom Brady looked impressive at the end of the game, after missing some open passes earlier. Tom threw for 25-42, 277 yards. but more impressive then the golden boy was their defense which only held Atlanta to 257 yards.

27 New Orleans, 7 Buffalo

Drew Brees and their explosive offense were outshined by the defense only holding Buffalo to seven points and TO to zero catches. Pierre Thomas is back and ran over 100 yards and 2 TDs.

24 Giants, 0 Tampa Bay

Yes, Tampa Bay is this bad.

36 Green Bay, 17 St. Louis

Aaron Rodgers (13-23, 269) and Greg Jennings had over 100 yards, however if they want to be a legit power that defense really needs to step up.

24 Jets, 17 Tennessee

Mark Sanchez still proving to be awesome and Tennessee still having a terrible year. Vince Young anyone?

34 Eagles, 17 Chiefs

Kevin Kolb anyone? (24-34, 327). Michael Vick did nothing, and so did the Chiefs. How could LJ turn so shitty, so fast?

27 Vikings, 24 49ers

All you need to know:

31 Jacksonville, 24 Houston

MJD ran for over 100 yards and scored 3 times.

3 Cleveland, 34 Baltimore

Eric Mangini is the worst coach of all time, and Joe Flacco(25-35, 342) is the best quarterback of all time. Baltimore really scares me as a Steelers fan.

23 Denver, 3 Oakland

Darren McFumble and the Raiders looked pretty god awful. Meanwhile, this Patriots assistant isn't doing too bad.

23 San Diego, Miami 13

Terrible game to watch. Fuck the Dolphins.

25 Chicago, 19 Seattle

I actually love Seattle's uniforms.

31 Colts, 10 Cardinals

Peyton Manning had a pretty ridiculous game throwing for 24-35, 379 yards and 4 TDs. The two superbowl teams of last year both have records of 1-2.

NFL Recaps: The Top Dogs Go Down

16 Jets, 9 Patriots

I guess Kerry Rhodes did back up his statement, as the great Pats offense was puketastic at best. If I were a Patriots fan, I would be a little concerned on how Tom Brady is acting in the pocket. He just doesn't seem comfortable, and a lot of his throws show it. The Jets Mark Sanchez is proving to be a very solid rookie as he posted 14-23 for 163 yards and 1 TD. The Pats are lucky they aren't 0-2.

17 Bears, 14 Steelers

Jeff Reed and Santonio Holmes need to take the loss on their shoulders for this one. Jeff Reed missed two potential game winners, and Santonio dropped at least 5 passes including one in the endzone at the end of the game. Roethlisberger didn't have a spectacular game, but he did what he does and it just didn't work out. I still think Jay Cutler sucks, but he did a lot better than last week as he went 27-38 for 236 yards and 2 TDs.

33 Giants, 30 Dallas

Tony Romo is terrible. Eli Manning had a hell of game and Steve Smith and Mario Manningham explodes as the two combined for 20 receptions for 284 yards and 2 TDs. I don't know how the game was so close because I went to sleep at 8, and I don't feel like reading about Eli Manning.

28 Atlanta, 20 Panthers

Matty Ice had three touchdowns.

27 Minnesota, 13 Lions

For a split second we all thought that Detroit was going to upset, however, the Lions are who we thought they were. Brett Favre, not to shabby 23/27 and 2 TDs.

31 Cincinnati, 24 Green Bay

Is there any team as disappointing as the Packers? How does a Superbowl contender lose to the Bengals? Fortunately for the Packers the only games that matter are the two games against the Vikings. But losing to the Bengals is flat out embarrassing.

34 Houston, 31 Tennessee

Matt Schuab figured out how to run the offense, throw it up to Andre Johnson. The underrated WR pulled down a hell of a game as he went for 10 receptions for 149 yards and 2 TDs.

13 Oakland, 10 Kansas City

A win is a win.

42 New Orleans, 22 Philadelphia

Fantasy alert: start everyone. Drew Brees is remarkable having another 300, 3 TD game. No one is going to be able to stop this team. Devery Henderson is a God.

9 Washington, 7 St. Louis

If any of our readers are fans of these two teams, sorry.

31 Arizona, 17 Jacksonville

Kurt Warner had a breakout game after his first game shitting the bed party. The old qb threw for 24/26 for 243 yards and 2 TDs.

23 49ers, 10 Seattle

Frank Gore busted loose with a 200+ rushing game. Seattle may have lost Hasslebeck forever.

31 Baltimore, 26 San Diego

Willis McGahee had 2 rushing TDs and Joe Flacco also threw 2 TDs.

27 Denver, 6 Cleveland

NFL Rundown

7 Dolphins, 19 Falcons
Matt Ryan threw for 229 yards and two touchdowns, including one to new tight end Tony Gonzalez. Miami, which gave the ball away an NFL-low 13 times in 2008, turned the ball over four times leading to 10 Falcons points. Tony Gonzalez caught five passes for a team-high 73 yards.

12 Broncos, 7 Bengals
Brandon Stokley caught the deflected pass, turned and looked upfield. Nobody stood between him and the end zone as the Broncos won on that hail mary like pass. Brandon Stokley's 87-yard touchdown reception with 11 seconds remaining gave Josh McDaniels a miraculous first win as Denver's head coach. Kyle Orton completed 17 of 28 passes for 243 yards and the Stokley score. Carson Palmer was 21-for-33 for 247 yards with two interceptions.

34 Vikings, 20 Browns
Adrian Peterson is the best runningback I have ever seen. Brett Favre managed the game and threw a TD pass to Percy Harvin. Brady Quinn looked awful.

14 Colts, 12 Jaguars
The Colts defeated the Jaguars for the fourth time in the last five games and won their 10th straight regular-season game, the longest streak in the NFL dating back to last season. Reggie Wayne had 10 receptions for 162 yards and a touchdown, the third-most receiving yards in his career. Anthony Gonzalez is out for 2-6 weeks.

27 Lions, 45 Saints
Drew Brees threw six passing touchdowns, the most in Week 1 ever in NFL history. Brees tied a franchise record with the sixth passing TD, and his 358 passing yards are the most by a Saints QB in Week 1, topping his previous mark of 343 set last year. It's the most since Brett Favre threw six in Week 4 last season. Five different Saints had receiving touchdowns, including Jeremy Shockey, who had his second career multi-TD game after having none last year. Matthew Stafford rushed for his first NFL score but threw three interceptions and had 205 passing yards in his first game.

34 Cowboys, 21 Buccaneers
Tony Romo threw for a career-high 353 yards and three touchdowns to help Dallas improve to 3-0 in season openers under Wade Phillips. Roy Williams finished with three receptions for 86 yards and one touchdown, which was his second touchdown in 11 games with the Cowboys - both have come against Tampa Bay.

38 Eagles, 10 Panthers
Donovan McNabb completed 10-of-18 passes for 79 yards with two touchdowns and an interception before leaving with a rib injury. Jake Delhomme was pulled from the game after throwing four interceptions and losing a fumble. Delhomme has four career games with four interceptions, which is tied for the third most among active players.

38 Ravens, 24 Chiefs
The Ravens set a franchise record with 501 total yards (303 passing, 198 rushing). Joe Flacco threw for career highs in yards (307) and touchdown passes (3) as the Ravens opened with a win for the second straight year.

24 Jets, 7 Texans
Mark Sanchez opened his career throwing for 272 yards with 1 TD and 1 Int. Thomas Jones rushed for 107 yards with two TDs. The Texans looked terrible.

23 Giants, 17 Redskins
Eli Manning completed 20-of-29 passes for 256 yards with a touchdown and an interception. Jason Campbell completed 19-of-26 passes for 211 yards with a touchdown and an interception.

20 49ers, 16 Cardinals
Hill completed 18 of 31 passes for 209 yards and a touchdown and was sacked four times. Kurt Warner went 26 for 44 for 288 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions, and he was sacked three times. Tim Hightower became the first Cardinals running back with at least 10 receptions and 100 yards in a game since Larry Centers in 1996.

0 Rams, 28 Seahawks
Matt Hasselbeck threw for 273 yards 3 TDs, and 2 INTs. The Rams still suck.

21 Packers, 15 Bears
The game was ugly. Aaron Rodgers threw for 184 yards and 1 TD. (which was ultimately the game winner to Greg Jennings and Jay Cutler proved again why he sucks as he threw for 277 yards but with one TD and 4 INTS.
