T Mac An Option For The Celtics

"He'll always get interest," one executive said. "I could see a team like the Lakers. A team like the Celtics. Not Orlando."

There is that scenario, that McGrady makes a stand that $1.35 million isn't enough, remains unsigned as camps open and waits for an injury that nudges an anxious team to dip into the mid-level exception. He's still barely 31. Maybe he can make a dent for somebody in the regular season and win a game or two in the playoffs.

NBA.com - T-Mac must wait to take what he can get

Listen I love T-Mac. I enjoy his game, but on every team but the Celtics. He can be a prolific scorer when healthy, and can definitely help a team out like the Celtics who may be in search for a SG this offseason. Unless T-Mac is willing to take a veterans minimum salary he isn't worth the trouble. He is oft injured and a shoot first type of player. I feel bad for the guy, but his game reminds me too much like Vince Carter. I also have started to hear rumblings of letting Paul Pierce go and getting a new max player. I don't care if Pierce is 50 years old, I want him to finish a Celtic.

McGrady To Knicks Getting Close

The Knicks would get a package centered around McGrady in exchange for Jared Jeffries, Larry Hughes, Jordan Hill and draft pick considerations (like swapping picks in the 2011 draft). The Bulls are apparently in on the McGrady bidding too, but most sources say the Knicks are a lot closer.

I have no idea what McGrady has left in the tank, but in the Knicks eyes it really doesn't matter. All they are concerned about is freeing up cap space for this summer, so that can sign 2 max salary type of players. The Knicks apparently are so determined to complete their plan of creating enough flexibility this summer that they are willing to include their own 2012 first-round pick (they don't have a 2010 pick, because they are fucking stupid and traded for Marbury).

This story should develop throughout the day, so we'll keep you posted...

McGrady To Finally Find A Way Out Of Houston?

I really do feel bad for McGrady. Well, as much as I can for a guy making the money he does, but it seems like all he wants to do is play ball. He might get his wish soon as the Wizards, Rockets, and Knicks are talking a 3 team deal. These teams have discussed a trade that would send McGrady to New York, Caron Butler and Brendan Haywood to Houston, and Al Harrington to the Wizards.

I like this deal for Houston, because they are getting a lot in return for basically nothing. I have no idea why the Knicks would do this deal, because it really doesn't give them anymore cap relief, so unless they think McGrady has enough in the tank for a playoff push I really don't see any reason for them to jump on this.

More T-Mac Drama

Tracy McGrady has been cleared to take an indefinite leave from the Houston Rockets after the former All-Star's representatives and Rockets management agreed to work together in search of a trade for the disgruntled guard, according to sources close to the situation. ESPN

It will be very difficult to trade McGrady due to his salary and injury history, I just really hope that he doesn't end up in the East on Cleveland or somebody like that. I like T- Mac and think he could be effective, but like Allen Iverson he needs to realize he's not young anymore and he needs to realize he's not a 30 shot attempt per game type of guy. The best thing for both parties would be if they we able to move him. The Rockets seem to be gelling the way they are and T- Mac could re-emerge as a solid player.

McGrady Remains On Schedule

"The Houston Chronicle reports Tracy McGrady went through brief portions of Sunday's scrimmages, playing roughly the same amount of time as in his previous participation in practice last Sunday. There has been no change in McGrady's timetable to return full-time to practices, with an MRI planned for Nov. 23 (ESPN)."

Even when he returns I do not expect much from McGrady anymore. He is a guy I will always feel bad for, but then again I just feel bad for the whole Houston team. Basically the Rockets are just waiting to get this guy off the books...

Tracy McGrady

Tracy McGrady
Tracy Lamar McGrady, Jr. (born May 24, 1979, in Bartow, Florida) is an American professional basketball player, currently playing at starting shooting guard for the Houston Rockets in the National Basketball Association (NBA). He can also play as a Small forward/point forward, and is commonly referred to as "T-Mac."

Entering the league after graduating from high school, McGrady eventually became a seven-time All-Star. He led the league in scoring in 2003 and 2004. He spent the first seven years of his career with the Toronto Raptors and Orlando Magic before being traded to the Houston Rockets in 2004. McGrady was ranked #75 on SLAM Magazine's Top 75 Players of All-Time in 2003. McGrady has never advanced to the second round of the playoffs in his whole career despite his seven trips to the playoffs: one with the Toronto Raptors, three with the Orlando Magic and three with the Houston Rockets. McGrady's style of play has been compared to that of George Gervin.

Tracy McGrady played high school basketball at Auburndale High School in Auburndale, Florida for three years. He then transferred to Mount Zion Christian Academy, in Durham, North Carolina. McGrady created a national buzz after his performance in the Adidas ABCD Camp, where the best high school players in the U.S. are invited annually. He was named High School Player of the Year by USA Today.

Tracy McGrady Injury Update

"Houston Rockets guard Tracy McGrady will be out 6 to 12 months after microfracture surgery on his left knee scheduled for Tuesday, but the team doctor is optimistic that the seven-time All-Star will regain his old form (Sportsline)."

McGrady has been injury prone his entire career. It is really sad the we will never be able to see what this team could have done with Yao and McGrady on the court. Now McGrady isn't even going to be ready for the start of next season. They will probably bring him back slowly, and you really have to wonder how much this guy has left. Even with all his talent it just doesn't seem like his body can play a full NBA season.

T-Mac Out For Year

This sucks for the Rockets, especially because a lot of people had them pegged as a potential NBA champion contender. The second reason is that he was on the trading block and obviously he can't be traded if he is hurt.

The forward told ESPN.com's Stephen A. Smith on Tuesday that his troublesome left knee will end his season and that he will undergo microfracture surgery. A part of me feels bad for T-Mac due to his constant injuries, and with the Rockets always being let down due to either T-Mac or Yao being hurt. This certainly determines the second team in the west bowing out of championship contention. (Hornets being the first)

McGrady Down For 3 Weeks

"Houston Rockets guard Tracy McGrady says he'll miss three weeks to rehabilitate his sore left knee. McGrady has missed Houston's last three games after starting the first 15 (ESPN)."

I am so glad this guy isn't on the Celtics. He really is one of the most aggrevating players, because he is so good when he is on the court, but he almost never seems to be. The Rockets have a good shot at being a very dangerous team, but I just don't trust them staying healthy, thus I don't take them seriously. How much longer till Yao goes down? Or Artest explodes? Let's watch....
