Judge Declares Mistrial In Clemens Prejury Case (UPDATED)

U.S. District Judge Reggie Walton has declared a mistrial in the Roger Clemens perjury case. The reason for this is because the prosecution used inadmissible evidence. That evidence is said to be a video of Clemens' testimony before Congress in 2008.

From what I have read the judge flipped out on the prosecution and then took a recess to think if they the case could continue. He came back later and stated that the case would be declared a mistrial. That doesn't mean Clemens is in any less trouble, but it does mean this is going to linger on, because they are going to have to select a whole new jury and start from scratch.

***UPDATE***

This might have been a bigger mistake then first thought...

"According to ESPN's T.J. Quinn, the court has to decide whether Clemens can be retried or if doing so would be double-jeapordy."

There You Have It America; Bonds Didn't Knowingly Use Steroids, Now Stop Judging

You know what Barry Bonds was convicted on yesterday? For being tricky.

Good Job America way to waste everyone's time and money and let a bunch of sports columnist convict the man on hearsay.

Bond's was convicted of Obstruction of Justice, but on the other 3 counts of steroid use he was found completely innocent. Know what came out of this trial? nothing that everyone didn't know. His trainer lied to him about what he was using and he didn't know what the cream was.... good job court.

Everyone can say what they want about Barry Bonds but you can't say that he knowingly cheated the game of baseball. It's an outrage that the public is still going to convict him, that he still won't be allowed into the Hall of Fame, and that baseball as a sport are going to put up a wall during the "Steroid Era" up and not let these great players in. A damn shame.

7. 14 time all star (1990, 1992-98, 2000-04, 2007)

33. 3-Time NL Hank Aaron Award winner (2001-02, 2004)
34. Led the Major Leagues in batting average (2002, with .370)

Pretty fucking impressive. He's a legend to the game and the fact that John Q. Public and Baseball Writers can dismiss this trial and say petty arguments like "his head grew" or "look it him from his rookie year to the year he broke the record" are just uninformed people.

So to all the Bonds haters out there...... Suck a dick

Virginia Man On Trial For Being Naked In His Home

"A Virginia man is scheduled to go on trial for indecent exposure Friday after police say he stood naked inside his house as a 7-year-old boy and his mother walked by.

The mother and child allegedly observed the defendant, Erick Williamson, first through a doorway and again through a window that had no drapes, MyFoxDC reported.

Williamson, the father of a 5-year-old, said he was in the confines of his home and should be allowed to be naked there. Police said he made a point of making himself visible to the pair as they walked to school along a path outside his home.

Williamson denied the allegations, saying he's not an exhibitionist and didn't know people could see him in his kitchen, MyFoxDc reported (FoxNews)."

This is fucking retarded. The guy is in his own home. If he wants to walk around naked he can do that. Why? Because it is his fucking house and he can do whatever he wants. People take this shit too far, and I really hope this case gets thrown out.

Oh by the way, that is not a picture of him. HAHA, just cracked me up...

Court Rules NFL Can't Suspend Vikings' Williamses

"A federal appeals court ruled the NFL can't suspend Minnesota Vikings defensive tackles Pat Williams and Kevin Williams for violating the league's anti-doping policy. The decision came Friday, two days before the Viking open the season at Cleveland. The NFL had cleared the two to play Sunday, but the court fight was still pending. The NFL wanted to suspend the Williamses for four games after they both tested positive for a banned diuretic during training camp in 2008. They had taken the over-the-counter weight loss supplement StarCaps. It did not state on the label that it contained the diuretic -- which can mask the presence of steroids. Neither player tested positive for steroids (Sportsline)."

This is a huge win not only for the Vikings but for the players union. Steroids have been such a losing battles for players in all leagues, but this time the players stood up for themselves, and won in court. This has to be a huge relief for them, and any fan of the Vikings, because without these two the Vikings defense would be terrible...

Roethlisberger Rejects Settlement Offer

"The attorney for Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is rejecting a settlement offer by a former Nevada casino worker who claims the Super Bowl winner sexually assaulted her. Roethlisberger attorney David Cornwell says the woman's offer is bizarre. The woman wants Roethlisberger to admit to the allegations, apologize and donate $100,000 to the Committee to Aid Abused Women, a Reno nonprofit organization that offers support to domestic violence victims (Sportsline)."

Listen, I hate the Steelers with every inch of my body, but thank God Roethlisberger isn't caving here. Most guys would, just to get it over with, but he isn't, and that is good for every celebrity male in the world. It is scary how easy it is for a girl to go after a guy with a charge like this. This one is different from the rest in the fact that it is so blatantly fake. So, just for today, I salute you Roethlisberger....now go drive a motorcycle to celebrate....

Michael Jackson's Doctor to Be Charged With Manslaughter

I knew this was going to happen ever since I heard that MJ was shot up with some stuff to help him sleep just hours before he died...

"Michael Jackson’s personal physician will be charged with manslaughter within the next two weeks, a law enforcement source told FOXNews.com. The source initially said Dr. Conrad Murray could be arrested as soon as next Wednesday -- but investigators have decided to execute one more search warrant, likely at a Los Angeles pharmacy, next week in an attempt to gather more evidence against him. The arrest is now expected the following week.

Law enforcement sources previously told FOXNews.com that Murray admitted he gave the King of Pop the intravenous anesthetic propofol to help him sleep just hours before his death — and that propofol was at least a contributing factor in the 50-year-old entertainer's death (FoxNews)."

This whole thing will go on for years, and from what I am reading this is not the only doctor that will be charged. I mean look at Jackson I guess it is not too hard to think that doctors had something to do with it, but honestly MJ has been dead since the early 90's...

Illinois Man Faces 6 Months in Jail for Yawning

"Drowsy spectators in one suburban Chicago courtroom might want to stifle their yawns from now on. A 33-year-old man is facing six months in jail for yawning in Will County Judge Daniel Rozak's court last month. The disturbance happened as Clifton Williams' cousin, Jason Mayfield, was being sentenced for a drug charge on July 23. A prosecutor who was in the courtroom described the offending yawn as "a very loud, boisterous" attempt to disrupt the proceedings. But Mayfield disagreed, saying it was "not an outrageous yawn." Rozak found Williams in contempt of court and sentenced him to six months in jail. However, Rozak could free Williams after a status hearing Thursday, if he apologizes and the judge accepts (FoxNews)."

That must have been one hell of a yawn to get the judge so pissed off that he charged him with contempt. No way they will actually let this go to court, since it would be an insane waste of money. The judge will probably just give him an earful, and then Williams will apologize, and it will be over. Still hilarious though...

Bonds In Trouble?

Everyone knows my feelings on Barry Bonds, but I am going to try and report this story without bias (as best I can)...

"Citing a person who has reviewed the evidence in the case, the New York Times reported on Wednesday that authorities detected anabolic steroids in urine samples linked to Bonds that they gathered in their investigation. Bonds testified to a federal grand jury in 2003 that he used the "cream" and the "clear" but did not know that they were performance-enhancing drugs. The urine samples could prove the existence of other steroids in his body. During that testimony, Bonds was asked if he ever took steroids, and he answered no. The government alleges that Bonds lied under oath. His perjury trial is scheduled to begin March 2 (ESPN)."

Basically what's going on is the federal government wants to prove that Barry Bonds used steroids, and not just a "cream", but actual "inject in your butt" steroids. The story goes on to say that they can tell the difference between the two with a urine test. Since they have the urine sample in their possession, they should be able to nail Bonds on perjury charges. That is the good news for the Federal government. The bad news is that Anderson, who was Bond's personal trainer, will not come out and testify against his former client. If he was to testify, Bonds would be a dead man, but Bonds may have enough money/lawyers to be able to fight the urine test results. We will have to wait and see what happens, as the trail is set to start in a little over a month. I think we can all agree this is a huge waste of money in a time when there are a lot more important things going on. Still, you can't just lie under oath, so if they are going to go through all this they better nail him.

**UPDATE**

Slow news day, but there has been a major break in the Bonds story...

"Former major league catcher Bobby Estalella is expected to provide significant testimony to support the government's contention that former San Francisco Giants outfielder Barry Bonds knowingly took steroids, according to a source with knowledge of the evidence (ESPN)."

Seems like the government is really making their run at Bonds. Now with this testimony they might not need Anderson's. This has been a back and forth story for a long time now, so I am sure there will be some news from the Bonds camp within the next couple of days. We'll keep you posted.
