According to TMZ, Randy "Macho Man" Savage died in a car accident earlier today in Tampa, FL. Lanny Poffo spoke with TMZ and stated that his brother suffered a heart attack while he was behind the wheel around 10AM today, and from there lost control of his vehicle. Savage, 58, just celebrated his one-year wedding anniversary to wife Lynn earlier this month.
2 wrestling icons have been going at it via twitter recently and it is none other than Brett "The Hitman" Hart vs Hulk Hogan.
1st Hart called the Hulk a dickhead, then he came out with this picture after it.
I don't know if the Hulk is still wrestling or not but if he is, that's pretty sad. I believe the only one that should still and forever be able to wrestle is the Undertaker. Wrestling got stupid and depressing now a days when there is no bad guys, ridiculous back stories or absurd shows. Now it is just people being bad ass and doing the stupid face wave thing. I haven't watched wrestling in about 8 years and not planning to, however, I think Hogan needs to give Hart a leg drop for the picture.
Wrestling is probably the gayest sport in the world, it's two kids in liatards(sp)grappling at each other doing gay sex moves to pin the other one. It's not so much of a sport as training on how to become a gay rapist. Wrestling is reserved for people who couldn't play real sports and the most annoying thing is when a kid who wrestled would come up to you and try to make his case for being an athlete. Sorry bro, going skin to skin grabbing at some other dudes grundle for 2 minutes isn't a sport, it's just uncomfortable and gay. So that's where this story fits in, apparently a kid who had a chance to make his sport somewhat straight decided he rather quit then get some cheap feels on some unsuspecting chick. I mean you can't blame him in some respect, If you whoop the girls ass your an asshole and if you get beat, you just lost to a girl, kind of a lose/lose situation if you ask me.
However, when your in High School your dying for cheap feels, you stare at anything with legs, ass and boobs and god forbid if you accidentally brush into a hot girls ass your day is made. So this kid in that respect blew his big chance. I guess wrestling with dudes and rubbing nutsack was more of his thing.
"A friend says a 9-year-old New York City boy might have been imitating a video game character when he apparently made a plastic parachute and jumped to his death from his apartment building's roof. Police say Domori Miles likely cobbled a plastic bag and rope together before flying off the 13-story Brooklyn building Tuesday. The items were found on the ground near his body. Ten-year-old friend Shakar Murrel says Domori was a fan of the wrestling game "WWE SmackDown vs. Raw" and loved wrestler Jeff Hardy's swan dives (FoxNews)."
Sad story, but I have to say that I hadn't heard a random kid trying to copy wrestling in awhile. It used to be almost every month there would be a story about some kid doing backyard wrestling and breaking his neck, or his buddy smashing his face in jumping off a roof. Good to see kids are at least still outside, but is wrestling even cool anymore. Seems like it is kind of dying out. A couple years ago it was really big, but it seems like I don't hear that much about it anymore. Maybe I am just getting older...
"Hulk Hogan is sounding homicidal over the way his wife Linda dumped him, forced him out of his $18 million mansion, allegedly started spending his money at the rate of $40,000 a month and dating "some shaggy-haired pool boy 30 years her junior," Rolling Stone reports. "I could have turned everything into a crime scene, like OJ, cutting everybody's throat," he told the magazine. "You live half a mile from the 20,000-square-foot home you can't go to anymore, you're driving through downtown Clearwater and see a 19-year-old boy driving your Escalade, and you know that a 19-year-old boy is sleeping in your bed, with your wife . . . I totally understand OJ. I get it (FoxNews)."
I read this headline and was like what the hell is this roided up freak talking about, but then when I read through the story a couple thing occured to me. One, he is right, and I would be just as pissed as he is if my wife was fucking 19 year olds, and spending all my money. Two, this is fucking hilarious that he made an OJ joke, even though he was aquitted. There is definitly a part of me hope he brings back his nWo shirt, and leg drops his wife...
"Watcha gonna do when the hulkster runs wild on YOU?"
Mick Foley aka Mankind aka Cactus Jack aka Dude Love
This guy was the last of the real wrestlers in my eyes and maybe the best wrestler of all time. Not only was he completely insane, but he literally gave 110% for the viewers. His injuries during wrestling consisted of : - Six concussions from 1986 to 1998 - One broken jaw in 1986 - Two broken noses in 1993 - One broken cheekbone in 1998 - Lost four front teeth from 1989 to 1998 - Two-thirds of his ear ripped off in 1993 (Against Vader in Germany) - A separated shoulder in 1990 - A fractured left shoulder in 1989 - A dislocated shoulder in 1998 - Second degree burn on his shoulder in 1995 (In the King of the Death Match in Japan) - Second degree burns on his arm in 1995 (In the King of the Death Match in Japan) - 54 stitches on his left arm in 1995 (In the King of the Death Match in Japan) - A broken right wrist in 1989 - Bone chips in his right elbow in 1996 - Six broken ribs from 1991 to 1998 - A torn abdominal in 1992 - A torn ACL - A broken toe in 1991 - A total of over 300 stitches in his arms, head, eyebrows, hands, ears, shin, cheek and lip - Thousands of thumb tack holes - Broken left thumb during a little league baseball game in 1978!
And if that isn't bad ass, I don't know what is. The Undertaker - Mankind match in 1998 was the best wrestling match of all time and no one can tell me different. He was the definition of a wrestler and with that being said, I salute you Mick Foley.
Professional wrestling isn't as good as it used to be. It's more popular today than when I was a kid, but it's lost what made it entertaining. Characters like The Million Dollar Man and Razor Ramon made wrestling entertaining for me. Most characters didn't even have realistic sounding names. Tatanka, Doink, Bam Bam Bigelow, Irwin R. Scheister, Adam Bomb, Diesel, 1-2-3 Kid, Mister Perfect, and so on.
Ever since the rise of Steve Austin, a tidal wave of "realistic" characters have taken over pro wrestling. These characters have realistic problems, like love triangles, money issues, family trouble, and so on. Gone are the conflicts caused by a Japanese manager waving a Japanese flag and taunting Americans. Or IRS stealing Razor Ramon's gaudy gold chains. Or The Undertaker fighting The Undertaker.
To me, the realistic characters only intensify how fake the actual wrestling is. All the special effects, blood packets, and breakaway glass might make the wrestling appear real, but we all know it's fake. I'm sorry, but seeing two realistic guys fight each other in a fixed fight isn't appealing. Watching a clown (accompanied by midget clowns) fight an Indian...THAT'S entertainment!
Maybe with MMA and UFC, which feature real people fighting real fights, pro wrestling will get back to ludicrous characters like Ted DiBiase and Mister Perfect. We can only hope.
