Seattle Supersonics Done

The Seattle or now Oklahoma Supersonics saga is over. According to ESPN "The settlement calls for Bennett and his Professional Basketball Club LLC to pay as much as $75 million to the city in exchange for the immediate termination of the lease. The team's name and colors will be staying in Seattle."

I don't like it. I always liked the Supersonics from the Payton-Kemp days to the Ray Allen- Rashard Lewis days. They will be missed and I wish them nothing but bad luck in Oklahoma.

Yi Jianlian and Bobby Simmons to Nets for Richard Jefferson

From ESPN: "The New Jersey Nets and Milwaukee Bucks are on the verge of a trade that will send Richard Jefferson to the Bucks for forwards Yi Jianlian and Bobby Simmons, according to NBA front-office sources."

Well that was quick stay for Yi. He didn't want to go to the Bucks anyways.

For Bucks: They get a talented player in Richard Jefferson and get rid of a bad player in Yi and mediocre player in Bobby Simmons. Richard won't have any controversy around him and if they keep Michael Redd (which I don't think will happen with this trade) they will have a good nucleus of Redd, Bogut, and Jefferson.

For Nets:
Maybe a change of scenery will make Yi more productive and with a young core of Yi, Williams, Harris and Boone they have a bright future. The deal also gave them 10 million dollars of cap space in a year. Only if they could now dump Vince Carter they will have a lot of money to spend on Lebron in 2010.

Also:
The Clippers and the Sonics made a deal in which the Clippers get the number 4 pick and the Sonics get the number 7 and the Clips 1rst pick in 2009.

With The 24th Pick In The 2008 NBA Draft The Seattle Sonics Select...

JaVale McGee
I like McGee and I think he can be a Andrew Bynum type of player in a couple of ways. 1) He is huge (7 foot)
2) He is a couple of years away from being an impact player.

The positives for McGee are he's a rare talent, in the fact he can run the floor in a fast pace game, and is very explosive. He's a very good shot blocker and has a lot of potential offensively. He also has a tremendous amount of range- he could knock down the college three when called upon. The reason he has fallen this far is due to his poor work-outs.

With The 4th Pick in the 2008 NBA Draft The Supersonics Select...

Right now the Sonics are pissed that the Timberwolves chose Mayo over Lopez, but with a glaring need at the PG position, they have to go with the best one still remaining and that's Bayless.

I like Bayless and he'll be the next great Arizona guard, but he is a little bit of a tweener. People say he's too selfish at times. He is a bona fide scorer with an inside- outside game. Unfortunately, he lacks toughness and a good defensive prowess. Him and Durant should be all the Sonics need for offense; it's just that they both need to learn how to play some defense.
