First 3DTV Game

A couple weeks back I put up a post about how ESPN is launching a 3D station, and it should be ready for the World Cup. What I didn't realize is that they aren't the only ones.

The New York Rangers beat the New York Islanders last night at MSG 5-0. No one would've talked about this game, but it happened to be the first 3DTV game. To watch the special airing, a viewer needed ordinary service from Cablevision, a regular cable box, and one of a new class of television sets capable of displaying content in 3D. The guy who wrote about all this didn't own any of that, so he went to a special screening. He says it was amazing.

That is really cool and all, and I have little doubt that this will be an option on every TV within the next 2-3 years, but for now who the hell is going to be able to afford this? From what I have been reading an 3DHDTV costs around $3,000. Sorry ,no way I am spending that when I can get a top of the line 60 inch HDTV for about $1,400.

Anyways, just thought it was cool to see what the future has for us. My question is what do you think the best sport in 3D will be? My guess is baseball, with a 3D strikezone, and the way it is filmed behind the pitcher. Thoughts?

New IPhone App: TigerText

When I first read this I thought it would just be texts that Tiger Woods sent to his skanks, but as I read on I found out it is way better. This app allows users to set a time limit on how long a text that they send will hang around after it has been read. When that lifespan has been exceeded, the message will disappear from the recipient's phone, the sender's phone and any servers. The message cannot be forwarded anywhere, stored anywhere or sold to any tabloids for an undisclosed sum.

Let me start off by says that every celebrity in the world should have this. Think about it. How many celebrities have gotten in trouble because of text messages? I mean it is really an endless list, so this is just a great fucking idea for them.

Beyond that anyone who has a girlfriend should get this. We all know that there is a time that you'll shoot a text to a former lover, and even if it is something as harmless as a "happy birthday", it is not going to go over well. So my suggestion is everyone should get this app.

Space Tourism a Reality by 2012

All I can say is it is about fucking time...

"The latest trend in eco-tourism is completely out of this world ... and right around the corner. Routine commercial travel to outer space may be the norm as soon as 2012, as the next generation of spacecraft — designed by private sector firms like Virgin Galactic, Orbital Sciences Corp., Space Exploration Technologies Corp. and others — transport adventure-seeking civilians into low-Earth orbit (FoxNews)."

I would love to go to the moon. Anyways while we are on the subject here are some other things that are long overdue.

- Flying cars
- Hoverboards
- Lasers guns
- Clicker controlled by the brain
- X-ray vision
- Transporter (like Star Trek)
- Force Fields
- Time Machine

So....yea scientists get on that.

NEC UltraWide Curved Immersion Monitor

Just saw this on NuCult and it looks fucking amazing, but I don't see too many Dueling Couches readers being able to afford the $7,999.00 price tag. Still, I love technology and I will one day own something like this monstrosity. Maybe by then I can build a better site.
