Toine Back

Former Celtic Antoine Walker plans to sign with the D-League in an attempt at a comeback. Walker made it be known that he wanted to attempt a comeback last summer, but he saw little interest from the NBA. Walker hasn't played in the NBA since the 2008 season when he appeared in 47 games for the Timberwolves. He did have a meaningful role on the Heat when they won the NBA title in 2006.WEEI

I fee bad for Toine, who was my favorite Celtic of all time. I once thought the Celtics should build around him over Pierce for some strange reason. He was an unbelievable post dribbler, an above average dribbler, passer, and scorer, however, off the court issues with money and weight training issues always kept Toine down.

I hope he can make a comeback in the D League even though he probably won't. I want employee number 8 back.

Walker Wiggling Back Into NBA?

He's definitely looking to go into training camp, but he knows it's not going to be a guaranteed contract," Walker's uncle, Chico Walker, tells Jessica Camerato of WEEI.com. "He's going to have to go in and make a team, and he understands that. That's where he is in terms of his conditioning. He knows he has to go in there and earn a spot. Nothing's going to be given to him regardless of what he's done in the past. I think the main concern is that this other stuff is going to follow him around. Is that going to be a deterring factor for a lot of teams? Hopefully not because basketball-wise, I still think he has a little bit to give to the game."

Chico Walker says his nephew has dropped 18 to 25 pounds and is drawing interest from "four to six" teams.

Walker was one of my favorite players when he was with the Celtics. He has had a tough couple of years, and I'm rooting for him to make a comeback. But not for a second am I taking this report seriously. Who's the source? Chico Walker? Sweet, I think I'll wait till I actually see that Walker is back in shape before getting excited about this. I doubt any team will end up picking him up, and I really doubt there are 6 teams interested.

Then again, Chico Walker is a former Red Sox, so maybe there's a chance.

How Much do the Puerto Ricans Pay?

Antoine is taking that stupid shake thing he does off to the Virgin Islands where he has recently signed on with the Guaynabo's down in some PR league. Rumor has it he needs the cash pretty badly. Something about bad checks in a Vegas casino

I'm guessing he'll see something in the range of $10,000 - $20,000 per season based on the crowds those games draw. He'll have that 4 mil chipped away in no time.

What confuses me about guys like Toine is what is wrong with China. Marbury took his crazy ass over there recently and played to sold out crowds every night. He played only a handful of actual games yet commanded several hundred thousand dollars for his services. And if not China, what about Spain, Greece, Italy or Russia? All respectable professional leagues that pay a surprisingly decent amount of money.

Antoine Arrested

"SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Nev. - A day after a warrant was issued stemming from his $822,500 in gambling debts, Antoine Walker was arrested in Harrah's Casino in South Lake Tahoe, Nev., on Wednesday night.

Walker was led out of the building in handcuffs, and is in Douglas County Jail with bail set at $87,000.

Walker is accused of three felony counts of writing bad checks. County prosecutors say he failed to make good on 10 checks totaling $1 million written to Caesars Palace, Planet Hollywood and the Red Rock Resort."

God dammit Antoine. You are not helping your favorite Celtic of all time case for me. First I find out you are a mini Charles Barkley, now I find out you are stupid enough to go back to the casino. Just pay off your debt and start wiggling.

Walker Can't Wiggle Out Of Gambling Debt

A criminal complaint has been filed against former Celtic Antoine Walker, with Las Vegas prosecutors claiming the former NBA star has not repaid $822,500 in gambling debts to three casinos, the Las Vegas Sun reported. Walker, who played with the Celtics from 1996 to 2003 (and again in 2005), has reportedly been charged with failing to pay back $1 million worth of markers at Caesars Palace, Planet Hollywood and Red Rock Resort. Chief deputy DA Bernie Zadrowski told the Sun he was asking a Las Vegas justice of the peace for an arrest warrant for Walker. Zadrowski said Walker has paid back some of the debt, but still owes $822,500 (Boston.com)."

Antoine Walker was one of my favorite players of all-time, but I am not at all surprised about this. Walker kind of reminds me of Barkley, plus Walker always like to take risks. He was once asked why he shoots so many threes. He replied simply....because there are no fours. Apparently he has a similar view on gambling.

Walker Wiggles Into DUI

"Former NBA player Antoine Walker has been charged with suspicion of drunken driving in Miami Beach. Police say Walker was driving a black Mercedes without the lights on when he was pulled over early Monday morning. Police say officers smelled alcohol and that Walker looked sleepy. Police say he refused to take a Breathalyzer test (ESPN)."

I always loved Antoine Walker, but I am not surprised by this. What else does he have to do? You know he wants back into the NBA, but that is probably not going to happen. If I was the cop I would never be able to arrest him. This is the same guy who when asked "why do you take so many threes?" he replied, "because there are no fours". Enough said...FREE ANTOINE!

Antoine Walker Coming Back

I'm completely making that up. However, I don't see it being a bad move if he gets bought out by the Timberwolves. Antoine was always one of my favorite players and I hope he comes back. He would be more useful than Brent Barry, or Jamaal Magloire, Right?

If I don't convince you, this certainly will:
