Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell Funny Then Racist

I have to say that I am surprised this story hasn't got more attention from the media. ESPN is playing it that he just called Americans wussies for postponing the Eagles game, but I feel like there is way more to his comment...

"My biggest beef is that this is part of what's happened in this country," Rendell said. "I think we've become wussies."

"We've become a nation of wusses. The Chinese are kicking our butt in everything," Rendell added. "If this was in China do you think the Chinese would have called off the game? People would have been marching down to the stadium, they would have walked and they would have been doing calculus on the way down (ESPN)."

Hold on a second, did he just make an Asian math joke? And no one really caught that? Interesting, maybe it is OK to make Asian jokes, but I bet if he said Africans would be dunking basketballs on the way to the stadium, or Jews would be doing accounting there would've been a huge up roar. I am just really surprised in a time when every quote is analyzed so much, that no one is bitching about this. Granted I find it hilarious, but you would think a politician would have to be a little more politically correct.

Congress Attacking Goodell About Concussions

"NFL commissioner Roger Goodell did not acknowledge a connection between head injuries on the football field and later brain diseases while defending the league's policies on concussions before Congress on Wednesday. That frustrated several members of the House of Representatives Judiciary Committee, including the committee chairman, Michigan Democrat John Conyers, when Goodell told him the NFL isn't waiting for that debate to play out and is taking steps to make the game safer.

"I just asked you a simple question. What is the answer?" persisted Conyers.

Goodell replied by saying a medical expert could give a better answer than he could. But some House members complained later that Dr. Ira Casson, chairman of the NFL's committee on concussions, had not testified. Democratic Rep. Linda Sanchez gave Casson some exposure anyway, playing a clip of a TV interview in which he denied evidence of a link between multiple head injuries in NFL players with brain disorders such as dementia and Alzheimer's. Sanchez said that reminded her of tobacco companies denying a link between smoking and health damage in the 1990s(Sportsline)."

This story really aggravates me. First off it is up to the doctor to clear a player, so I really don't know how much say the NFL has anymore (used to be different). My other question (which I seem to be asking a lot) is why the fuck is congress involved in this? This is something the NFLPA should be all over. I think Congress probably have more important thing to attend to then concussions in NFL player. I think that most doctors are still learning about concussions, and that they are getting better. I really don't see how these hearing will do anything, unless they just put in more stupid rules (like not being able to hit QBs, ect).

Another Reason Schwarzenegger Is The Man

"Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger typically attaches a message to bills he signs or vetoes telling lawmakers why he took the action. A Democratic assemblyman who heckled the governor during a recent event in San Francisco actually received two messages: the veto letter itself and a not-so-subtle rebuke creatively hidden within it.

Like a find-the-word puzzle, the second message was visible by stringing together the first letter of each line down the left-hand margin. It consisted of a common four-letter vulgarity followed by the letters "y-o-u (FoxNews)."

I know little to nothing about Arnold Schwarzenegger's politics, but this is fantastic, and when you add this to the photo above it instantly makes him the most badass Governor of all-time...

Obama's America on Full Display

This is what provocative radio personality Rush Limbaugh had to say after being dropped from a group seeking to buy the St. Louis Rams. I can't disagree with him. It's bullshit that he was railroaded from this bid simply because of his politics. Love him or hate him, to see this happen is the opposite of progress.

To recap, Limbaugh along with several other investors including the owner of the St. Louis Blues came out as potential suitors for the putrid Rams team which should be put up for sale sometime this year. There was an immediate backlash from players, fans, other owners and of course Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton. A lot of the anger stems from comments Rush made on ESPN about Donovan McNabb and the media overrating him because of their desire to see a black, drop back passer succeed in the NFL. While the comment was certainly controversial - what does Rush ever say that is not -it was not racially insensitive.

There are also allegations that he's said some offensive stuff regarding basketball (it's a game for thugs and gangs) and the current state of the NFL (looks like the Bloods vs. the Crypts out there every week). However there is no hard proof he said any of this. Any time you hear about the super insensitive stuff Limbaugh allegedly said it's from one of his sworn enemies. Yet the public get's a hold of this and he's all of a sudden the second coming of Jimmy the Greek.

If Limbaugh was a black guy who said racially charged shit yet supported the liberal cause his bid would never have been challenged. If Michael Moore sought to buy a team, nobody would have said a god damn thing. Yet because Rush is Rush and he happens to be rather opinionated, especially with the anti-Obama stuff, his involvement was laughed off from the moment it became public.

And thus, we have what some of us have feared all along - Obama's America. First Amendment rights are protected - so long as you speak out for the Democrat cause - and Capitalism is promoted - so long as you don't want to buy shit with conservative money.

Sure he is 72 years old. Sure he has a lisp, but if he was running for Massachusetts I would vote for him. Why? Because the man gives the best pump up speeches. Honestly when he is on ESPN and does the speeches he would say for different teams each week it would get me so pumped up I was ready to play. Yea, I stayed on my couch, but man I was pumped.

Listen, I am not going to tell you who to vote for because frankly, I don't care. What irks me the most is when you have guys like LeBron, Jay-Z, Greg Oden, Brady Quinn, and Curt Schiling giving their political views in hope to change some peoples minds. Let people make up their own mind on who they are going to vote for without interfering. The LeBron thing pisses me off the most because yesterday Jay-Z and him threw a concert to support Obama in Cleveland, but a month ago when he was playing for the Olympics on a world wide scale he said he didn't want to get into politics. Why the change LeBron? is it because you are a pawn to Hip Hop and Jay-Z?
