"Huang Yuanfan, 84, of Ziyuan, China, is the latest person to report an unusual growth protruding from the head. His horn began growing two years ago and has reached a length of 3 inches, according to Metro.co.uk and other British news sites.
"Doctors say they don't know what caused it, but if they try to take it off it will just come back," Huang told the press. "I try to hide it beneath a hat, but if it gets much longer it will be sticking out the top."
Last year, Zhang Ruifang, a 101-year-old from China, made news when a second horn began emerging from her head. Her first horn had already grown 2 1/2 inches. China has produced a number of other elderly horny folks in recent years. In 2007, 93-year-old Ma Zhong Nan flaunted a 4-inch horn growing atop his head. He paid little attention to it until it became itchy, at which point he sought help.
That same year, 95-year-old Xiou Ling made headlines for a 6 1/2-inch horn that jutted out of her forehead and curled downward over her face. It had been growing for four years.
And in 2006, Zhang Yuncai of China's Xingyang county felt what he thought was a pimple on his head. Eventually that "pimple" got bigger and bigger until it developed into a 2-inch horn-shaped bump. Doctors removed the strange growth free of charge (FoxNews)."
Well, that's odd.
What is really odd is that this happens mostly in China. I wonder if it has to do with the food or something, but it also seems to happen mostly with extremely old people. I have no idea, but after reading the story about thousands of birds randomly dying in America this year (and no one seems to know why), and China's old people growing horns I can only assume that this is the end of the world. Not to mention next year is 2012.
"Gary Moore, Iverson's personal manager, told the Associated Press that Iverson "has not been contacted by any NBA team with training camps set to open in less than two weeks."
"We're very astonished, to say the least, that not one team has contacted us with any interest," Moore told the AP. "I just don't understand it."
Further, Moore said there is "legitimate interest" between a Chinese team and Iverson to consummate a deal (ESPN)."
How can you be shocked that no team wants any part of Iverson. He is washed up, there is almost 0 chance he will play a full season, and of yea...He's a loser. All Iverson can do now is sell ticket, but any chance of him making a team better waved bye-bye years ago.
Here is a lesson for everyone out there. People notice when you quit on your team time and again.
"New York is seeing red over the decision to turn the city's highest beacon — and one of America's symbols for free enterprise — into a shining monument honoring China's communist revolution Wednesday night. The Empire State Building is set to be illuminated in red and yellow lights to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the bloody communist takeover (FoxNews)."
Here at Dueling Couches we do not discuss politics, but WTF IS THIS!!!!! This country hates communism. Why the fuck are we celebrating an authoritarian communist regime?????? It makes no fucking sense to me, and for some reason really pisses me off....
"Two passengers have been stabbed to death after they complained about a man humming on a train, say reports in China. The knifeman was humming along to his CD player when three people in the carriage complained about the noise. A fight began and the trio wrestled the man to the floor and began beating him, said the state-run Xinhua news agency. The man — identified only by his surname Yan — then pulled out a blade and stabbed all three of them. One died on the train, while another died later in hospital. The third man was taken to hospital and is recovering from his injuries (FoxNews)."
There is always one person on every train that is a pain in the ass, but you got to let it go. Honestly the same person that is making a scene is doing it for a reason, or at the very least is not right in the head. You got to just let it go, and after reading this it just backs up what I always thought....the person that is making noise is fucking crazy and probably has a knife or something.
"An employee at a factory that makes iPhones in China killed himself after a prototype went missing, and Apple Inc. responded Wednesday by saying its suppliers are required to treat workers with dignity and respect (FoxNews)."
Well the Chinese always have honor. Honestly if this was a guy in the US he would lie till he was either fired, in jail, or got away with it. In China? They kill themselves...I wonder if he did it with a sword?
"For China’s Communist Party leaders, the country’s first sex theme park proved to be a G-string too far. Within hours of a nationwide blaze of publicity for the park featuring over-sized statues of naked genitalia and how-to workshops, the bulldozers moved in to raze Love Land. The park had been set to open in October in the southwestern city of Chongqing. Among the first displays to fall victim to the wrecking ball was a rotating signboard with the park’s name straddled by a giant pair of women’s legs topped by a red thong. The park’s manager, Lu Xiaoqing, defended the venture late last week and bemoaned the lack of sexual openness in a country where just three decades ago it was seen as provocative for a woman to have long hair or to wear a skirt. "Sex is a taboo subject in China but people really need to have more access to information about it," Lu said. "We are building the park for the good of the public. I have found that the majority of people support my idea, but I have to pay attention and not make the park look vulgar and nasty." He failed, however, to win the support of city propaganda officials. A hasty weekend inspection tour after pictures of the theme park appeared in the media spelled its demise (FoxNews)."
To be honest Asian porn always scared me, so I have a feeling this park would have a whole bunch of things I wouldn't want to see. Still it is crazy how much power the Chinese government has. It doesn't sound like there was any court process, just basically the government didn't like what was going on and in come the bulldozers. I wonder if the guy who made this park gets any money, otherwise....sucks for that guy. I have to admit that pic of the theme park cracks me up. Still, not sure if kids should be going on "labia rides".
I don't hate the Olympics, but I hate the bullshit that surrounds and envelops the Olympics like pink hats around Jacoby Ellsbury. And I do hate China, with a passion. And I hate the IOC (International Olympic Committee).
2012 will see no more baseball at the Olympic games. Why not? I don't really know. Baseball isn't just played in the US. It's played in the entire Western Hemisphere, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Australia, and Europe. Seeing the Cuban national team is a treat every 4 years because the talent is near Major League levels. But it won't be an Olympic sport in 2012, and neither will softball.
Yet these are Olympic sports:
Race walking.
Only Europeans could come up with this. It's a race on foot, but you can't run. If you run, you're disqualified. It looks pretty hard, but it looks pretty retarded.
Ping pong.
It's not table tennis, it's fucking ping pong! They actually have DOUBLES ping pong in the Olympics! Is gold that worthless that it's given out every 4 years to 2 Asian dudes who are sick at ping pong?
And if ping pong is an Olympic sport why not...?
Or this...
Or bowling, or mini-golf, or pool, or darts, or Beirut, or flip cup, or speed reading, or seeing who can go the longest without sleeping, or Edward 40 hands, or running backwards, or staring contests???
And can ESPN, NBC, and everyone else in the universe all give Michael Phelps some rest and get off his junk? Yes, he's a phenomenal athlete and deserves all the medals, endorsements, praise, and sluts he'll get.
But this whole debating bullshit is melting my brain. "Is he the best Olympian ever?" How the fuck could anybody know that?!? It's hard enough to compare athletes from different eras in the same sport, but when you start comparing him to Jim Thorpe (decathlon/pentathlon/long jump/high jump), and Jesse Owens (sprinter/long jump); you're wasting your time. Can't we just sit back and enjoy the events without having to wonder if he's the best, 2nd best, or 3rd best ever?
And China can go straight to hell. So can the IOC. The big argument for China getting the 2008 games was "if Nazi Germany got them in 1936, why not China?" But Nazi Germany used the games as propaganda. It was a chance for Hitler to impress his country (and the world) on the biggest possible stage. So why are we allowing China to do the same thing?
The glamour and scale of the Opening Ceremony was eerily similar to the grandiose spectacles the Nazis used in their rallies, and the Soviets used in their big May-Day parades.
The fuckos who think the Olympics are some sort of peace-creating lovefest piss me off most of all. The Olympics have nothing to do with peace, and just a little bit to do with sports. They're an opportunity for governments to aggrandize themselves, to make themsevles seem amazingly powerful in the eyes of their own people. They're a monstrous platform for enormous multinational corporations to sell their products. McDonalds, Visa, Coca-Cola and 9 other companies paid $866 million just to be able to put the Olympic logo on their products and put up signs at Olympic facilities.
The Olympics aren't a peaceful time outside the host city, and even inside it. Just ask the people right now in Georgia, or the 1972 Israeli Olympic team, or the 2 people who died in Atlanta in '96. And they don't spread peace or goodwill, either. In 1968, Mexico City hosted the games, but their dictatorial government massacred hundreds of protesters that same year. And I don't need to tell you what Germany did post-1936, when Berlin was the host city.
The Olympics are sports, and some of them are fun to watch. I prefer the Winter Olympics, with the best hockey competition in the world. And I have a sick curling fetish. But most of it is bullshit. Michael Phelps is not the greatest athlete of all time. China is not a good country. McDonalds has nothing to do with athleticism.
China tried to pull a fast one on us, and pathetically thought that no one would notice.
During the opening ceremonies, Lin Miao Ke was seen singing "Ode to the Motherland" except it wasn't her voice that everyone heard. It was 7 year old Yang Peiyi's voice. When Chinese government officials saw Yang they said she was not cute enough due to her crooked teeth and Lin's voice wasn't good enough to be the singer.
Lin Miao Ke's father was told 15 minutes before the opening ceremony that his daughter would be performing, but when he heard her sing he thought the voice sounded different. Lin didn't even know she was lip synching.
Supposedly the fireworks were also faked at one point. Congratulations China, on being completely useless.
I was one of the one billion people that watched the China vs. USA basketball game today, and I have to admit that I thought it would be a decent game since China had home court advantage and a bunch of big guys. I was wrong. It was like watching the Celtics take on BC, just a joke all around. Kobe, Lebron, Redd, and Chris Paul were just way too much for Yao and company. To make it worse for China Yao, looked like he hurt his ankle, and you have to think the Houston Rockets are pissed right now. Anyways, they kept saying the games will get tougher, but USA finally put together a team that plays D, and have actually practiced with each other, so I expect them to roll through everyone. Once again USA basketball will be where it belongs...at #1.
