Sex Theme Park Knocked Down

"For China’s Communist Party leaders, the country’s first sex theme park proved to be a G-string too far. Within hours of a nationwide blaze of publicity for the park featuring over-sized statues of naked genitalia and how-to workshops, the bulldozers moved in to raze Love Land. The park had been set to open in October in the southwestern city of Chongqing. Among the first displays to fall victim to the wrecking ball was a rotating signboard with the park’s name straddled by a giant pair of women’s legs topped by a red thong. The park’s manager, Lu Xiaoqing, defended the venture late last week and bemoaned the lack of sexual openness in a country where just three decades ago it was seen as provocative for a woman to have long hair or to wear a skirt. "Sex is a taboo subject in China but people really need to have more access to information about it," Lu said. "We are building the park for the good of the public. I have found that the majority of people support my idea, but I have to pay attention and not make the park look vulgar and nasty." He failed, however, to win the support of city propaganda officials. A hasty weekend inspection tour after pictures of the theme park appeared in the media spelled its demise (FoxNews)."

To be honest Asian porn always scared me, so I have a feeling this park would have a whole bunch of things I wouldn't want to see. Still it is crazy how much power the Chinese government has. It doesn't sound like there was any court process, just basically the government didn't like what was going on and in come the bulldozers. I wonder if the guy who made this park gets any money, otherwise....sucks for that guy. I have to admit that pic of the theme park cracks me up. Still, not sure if kids should be going on "labia rides".
