Red Sox @ Jays Preview

The Sox will try to build off the 3-1 win over the Twins yesterday, but if they are to do that they are going to need to get their offense going. For that to happen they are going to need players like Jason Bay (who is only hitting .167 over the last 7 days) to get it going. The good news is that the Jays have just been horrible lately losing 9 straight games, and look to be heading to the cellar of the AL East.

Boston will try to continue the Jays losing streak as Wakefield takes the hill. He has been the surprise of the year going 6-2 with an impressive 3.99 era. Last time Wake faced the Jays he went 8 strong innings allowing only 1 run.

The Jays will counter with Casey Janssen. Janssen (0-1, 4.50) appeared in 70 games as a reliever in 2007 and missed all of last year with a torn labrum, but Saturday at Atlanta he became the 10th different pitcher to start a game in Toronto's banged-up rotation. The right-hander allowed three runs in six innings of a 4-3 loss. The Sox need to jump on a guy like this. He could be an easy target for the Sox to get their offense going.

First pitch is at 7:07 on NESN.
