C's Won't Trade For A Higher Pick
"We're interviewing anywhere from 22 to 25 people," said Danny Ainge, who downplayed the Celtics trading up for a higher pick. "And because we only have a second round pick, we're not exactly going to be tops on anyone's list. There's 30 teams doing these interviews, so we all have to wait our turn."
There is also a good chance that the Celts don't even use the pick.
"We might have to use that slot on a free agent this summer," said Ainge. -- Boston Herald
This puts a lot of pressure on Billy Walker and J.R. Giddens to step it up. I think Walker is more of an impact player than Giddens, but only time will tell. Walker is a physical player who could possibly take some minutes from Pierce or Allen(which would be a good thing) and if Giddens can be a scorer off the bench that would be very helpful for him, but I'm not sure he is quite ready.
