Ron Artest Taking His Talents To Finland?

Ton of rumors flying around the internet today that Ron Artest is heading to Finland today, and may decide to stay there. This is a very odd story since Artest has 3 years left on his contract with the Lakers. From the Lakers standpoint they have to be praying he goes. He is not worth the money he is getting and his production really fell off last year. Plus, he is fucking crazy, and proved it once again as he is changing his name to Metta World Peace.

Like I said I am perplexed by this story, but then again Ron Artest usually do that to me.

More Laker Drama

A day after a rumor had come out that Ron Artest wants out of LA, the Lakers are now having to deal with Kobe Bryant calling out PoopFace (Pau Gasol)...

"When I'm out there being aggressive and doing my thing, he needs to follow suit and just be just as aggressive which is hard for him because it's kind of against his nature. But I think tonight was a good step," Bryant said.

"Even when he was in Memphis and he was the go-to guy, he was always very nice. Very white swan. I need him to be black swan (ESPN)."

As true as this statement might be the Lakers are really getting into a bad habit of calling their players out through the media. So far Phil Jackson has called out Kobe, Artest, and Bynum. Kobe has called out Gasol, and even the owner has got into the mix saying that the Lakers defense has been hurting because they are "too old".

Wow, and we still got a lot of the season left. The Lakers can certainly get back on track, but it is looking more and more like they could implode. If we were picking today I'd still say the Lakers are the most likely to make it to the Finals, even with how well the Spurs have been playing. I just trust Kobe more then any other player, but there are certainly cracks in the foundation of this franchise and this could get ugly quick if they keep using the media to air out their dirty laundry.

Artest Wants Out Of LA

"One source close to the situation insists that Artest wants out," he wrote. "Asked to react to that, Artest's agent David Bauman declined comment ... I've nonetheless been assured this week that Artest -- though he hasn't outright demanded a trade and is likely to publicly deny it -- is serious about wanting to be dealt somewhere 'he can have fun again (ESPN).'"

There have been rumors going around about the Lakers making a trade ever since the Celtics beat them. The problem here is Artest is due $21.7 million over the next three seasons. and is having the worst year of his career. On top of that he is crazy, so he is really unlikely to move unless it is part of a bigger deal. What we can learn from this is that the Lakers are in a lot of trouble, and there doesn't seem to be a lot of ways out of it.

Artest Confronts Phil Jackson

"Ron Artest has tried to be on his behavior since joining the Lakers last season. On Tuesday, Lakers coach Phil Jackson confirmed that Artest reverted to his old ways recently, confronting the coach at a recent practice because he felt Jackson was embarrassing him in public.

Artest was not pleased that news of the incident was leaked. "I've worked too hard to have something like this come out," Artest said Tuesday, prior to the Lakers' win over the Pistons. "My image is very important to me — whatever image I have left — and this hurts, this really hurts."

Added Artest, who apologized to the team for the confrontation: "I've tried so hard not to be part of any controversy, not to be part of any conflict, for this to come out now, that's weird, and it's really hard (WEEI)."

Maybe for the first time ever I don't really blame Artest. Phil Jackson has been shooting off his mouth a lot this year, and I am totally against calling out your players in the media. Jackson has already done this to Kobe this year, and now he has been all over Artest. I feel like Artest has tried to change, he is definitely still crazy, but I do feel like he is at least trying. On the other hand Jackson seems be under the thinking that this is his last year and he isn't going to take anyone's shit, and will let everyone know if a player is screwing up.

From a Celtics' perspective (or anyone in the West) they have to be loving this. There is a lot of fighting in that locker room right now, and they just haven't looked right in awhile now. I still think they will figure it out, but in the beginning of the season I thought this team would be unstoppable.

Ron Artest Just Needs To Shut Up

Ron Artest came out and said that he wanted to play in the NFL when his career is over in the NBA.

"God willing, after my NBA career, God willing I'm still athletic enough -- which I'm trying to take care of my body as best as possible and be prepared for this day, for this tryout of an NFL team," Artest said. "... It's a fantasy of mine. It's an opportunity because I'm athletic. So if that fantasy can be fulfilled, and if it's something that can really be reached as far as a goal, I'm going for it (ESPN)."

I really have nothing against what he said, do whatever you want, but on top of that statement he also said he is going to train to be a professional boxer when he is retired. He really needs to sit back one day, and just think about how crazy he really is.

Still, I really want to see him be a heavyweight boxer, because what would be better then watching him get his ass kicked for a round or two? Oh wait, I can answer that... watching LeBron get his ass kicked.

Artest To Sell Championship Ring

Ron Artest has come out and said he is going to sell his NBA Championship ring. While you might think this is just another crazy Ron Artest story, he is actually doing it for a good cause...

"You work so hard to get a ring, and now you have a chance to help more people than just yourself, instead of just satisfying yourself," he said. "What's better than that? For me, this is very important."

Good for him, because basically he is helping himself. This dude is all fucked up, but at least he knows it and wants to help others that are like him (usually much worse). Anyways, kind of a coll story when most of the time you'll read about Lakers beating up women (Kobe, Barnes).

Then again, he could've just sold his racing car he got a ticket for the other day...

Artest Blasts Doc Rivers

As if the Celtics/Lakers rivalry needed anymore gasoline in the fire...

"At the time Ron Artest obviously in another world, so he probably didn't hear Doc Rivers immediately following the Lakers' Game 7 Finals win over the Celtics, when Rivers made special effort to point out that the Lakers still hadn't beaten the Celtics' starting five (Kendrick Perkins was sidelined with an ACL injury) .

In recent days, Rivers made the rounds and in an interview with John Thompson on ESPN 980 he said it again. Word apparently worked its way to Artest, who two months after the Finals appears to have come down enough to take Rivers' comments as fighting words (Boston.com)."

Here are Artest's tweets

- "Doc got one million excuses..
Just come back this season a take what you want..."

- "Boston lost to lakers because of Kendrick Perkins injury. What about in 08 when Bynum was injured. What about this year Bynum was injured .."

- "What about Kobe played with a broke finger .... What about Ron artest defense When the Boston staff said Ron artest was too slow" (of course this ass-clown speaks in the 3rd person)

As much as I hate to admit Artest is kind of right. Bottom line is that you either win or lose, you can't sit back and just make excuses, but I also see what Rivers is doing. I think one of the biggest things for the Celtics is to have all these old guys keep believing they can still do it. Sounds simple, but I believe comments like that make them believers.

I really just love all of this. The Yankees vs. Sox has lost some of it's nastiness, but Celtics/Lakers is more then picking up the slack. The addition of Shaq, history, and these comments have done enough to get the most lethargic NBA fan interested.

Oh Yea, Ron Artest Everyone

So he writes defense in his hair, cool. Too bad the Lakers are on a 3 game losing streak. At least he's not punching fans.

Ron Artest Is Still Fucking Crazy

Ron Artest was a member of the Indiana Pacers and Ben Wallace the Detroit Pistons during the infamous "Brawl at the Palace."

Not only did Artest consider signing with the Pistons last summer, but he thinks he and Wallace should have a charity boxing match.

He respects Wallace, but when asked if he dislikes him, Artest wouldn't answer. "I will let you answer that," Artest told The Detroit News. "I'll leave that to public opinion."

Wallace laughed at the notion of a boxing match. "I am too old for that," Wallace said. ESPN

The funny thing is I was writing the title and Ron Artest Is Still Fucking Crazy popped up. Ron Artest is just a big distraction, it seems like he loves to draw in media with his stupid fucking mouth. I hope he keeps doing it and it creates dissension in the Lakers clubhouse. It's nice to see that the mayhem he actually caused in Detroit that night seriously, David Stern should suspend him for just saying a stupid comment like that. He needs to learn to just shut up and not say anything, plus Ben Wallace would whoop him.

God Dammit Ron Artest

Ron Artest, the often-controversial Los Angeles Lakers' forward, told a magazine interviewer he used to drink alcohol at halftime of NBA games.

"I used to drink Hennessy ... at halftime," Artest said in an interview with The Sporting News, which is publishing the story in its Dec. 7 issue. "I [kept it] in my locker. I'd just walk to the liquor store and get it."

Hennessy is a French cognac.

Artest said he drank while he played for the Chicago Bulls, where he played for his first three seasons (1999-2002). He has since played for Indiana, Sacramento, Houston and the Lakers. ESPN

This guy is ridiculous. If he wasn't on the Lakers I would love him, but since he is I'm going to bash him. I mean what kind of athlete drinks at halftimes of games? This guy is a shithead and I hope he kills the Lakers.

The Crazy Train Has Begun In LA

Here is Ron Ron throwing Trevor Ariza's shoe in the stands during a loss last night:

Ron Artest Is Still Fucking Crazy

Artest will wear uniform No. 37 in honor of the number of weeks that Michael Jackson's album "Thriller" was No. 1 on the charts.

Well, I will admit Thriller was pretty awesome. I just hate the Lakers so much.

Artest's deal not done but will be joining LA Lakers

According to multiple sources including ESPN's Marc Stein, "The Los Angeles Lakers and Artest have struck an agreement in principal on a multiyear contract that, according to sources close to the process, will total roughly $18.7 million over three years or $33.5 million over five years, depending on which contract structure Artest ultimately prefers."

In my opinion, I think the LA Lakers are off their rocker for not trying harder to sign Ariza. Artest is an excellent defender and a good player with a badass attitude but Ariza has all the potential and signs that he could be the next Ron Artest. Disagree? I also wonder how the Artest signing will affect Odom. I do believe if the Lakers sign Artest and resign Odom they will be better next season. Over and out.

Fuck Darko Milicic

Ron Artest To Cavs

This is a brand new rumor. Ron Artest is meeting with LeBron James about joining the Cavs. If Artest goes to the Cavs that scares the fuck out of me, Artest is a hell of a defender and he teamed up with Shaq and LeBron, I don't see how they can lose. More to come.

Ron Artest Tweets, And Gives Great Advice

“Just be a jumpoff for like one person. Two people, you can be a jumpoff for two people. Now five or six, whoooaaa, you gettin’ your freak on.” - Ron Artest

Which means in white people language; you should just have casual sex with one or two people. If you have sex with 5 or 6 people all the time, more power too you.

Ron Artest/ Yao Ming Drama

Let the ridiculousness start in Houston. Yao Ming and Ron Artest have already got into a vocal feud with each other. Here are some comments:

Yao started off by: “Hopefully, he’s not fighting anymore and going after a guy in the stands”

Artests Replied, “I understand what Yao said, but I’m still ghetto,” Artest said, according to the report. “That’s not going to change. I’m never going to change my culture. Yao has played with a lot of black players, but I don’t think he’s ever played with a black player that really represents his culture as much as I represent my culture. Once Yao Ming gets to know me, he’ll understand what I’m about."
and...
“If you go back to the brawl, that’s a culture issue right there,” Artest added, according to the report. “Somebody was disrespecting me, so he’s got to understand where I’m coming from. People that know me know that Ron Artest never changed.”

The the Rockets management stepped in and here are Ron's comments:
“I guess once Yao Ming approves [the deal], I’ll be a Houston Rocket,” Artest said, according to the report. “[Yao] probably should’ve called me first. But at the same time, it’s Yao Ming’s team.”

“Whatever Yao Ming wants me to do, I’ll be there. Whatever Tracy McGradytells me to do, that’s how it’s going to go down. Ultimately, whatever [Rockets] coach Rick Adelman tells me to do is exactly what I’m going to do.”

Even though I believe Houston will be good this season, I think Ron might be a little bit of a cancer here.

Ron Artest To Rockets

Yesterday night Ron Artest got traded to the Rockets for first-round pick in 2009, newly drafted Rockets rookie Donte Greene, Kings alumnus Bobby Jackson (contract reasons)

I love this move, I was kind of hoping when the Celtics had their MLE they might sign and trade for him. The Rockets need a third option behind T-Mac and Yao Ming and now they do. He has been on really good behavior the past couple of years and if he keeps it up he will be able to thrive in the Rockets system.

For the Kings, they got two first round picks, Bob's boy Green and a first round pick next year. For a rebuilding team that is exactly when you need.
