Jalen Rose Going To Jail

A Michigan judge has sentenced former NBA guard Jalen Rose to serve 20 days in jail for a drunken driving crash along a snowy suburban Detroit road in March (sentenced actually to 92 days overall, with all but 72 days suspended, he also gets 1 year probabtion).

I usually going on a whole rant about how he is rich and should've got someone else to drive, which is damn true, but you know how I feel about that, so I will just give Jalen a little credit.

He admitted what he did, and even old the officer that he had six martinis that might, and pleaded guilty to the charge. 20 days in jail sucks, but it could've been worse and I hope ESPN doesn't fire him over this. He admitted what he did, he is going to serve his time and should be allowed to move on with his life once he has.

Plaxico Burress Released From Jail

Seems like Burress has been away for ever for shooting himself in the leg (haha). Well, he is finally out, and from reports looks in better shape then when he went in. If I was any team I would take a shot on this guy. I think there is a great chance he explodes back on the scene, and I don't see him getting in trouble again. My hope is the Patriots actually take a look because he would be a awesome combo with Tom Brady.

There are a bunch of other rumored teams (Jets, Steelers, Giants, Eagles, ect). If I was the Rams I would take a strong look at this guy, as they could use some WR help. The Redskins are another likely landing spot (and I was to have a guess I would say they are most likely).

Burress' Request For Work Release Turned Down

"Former New York Giants Super Bowl star Plaxico Burress has come up short in his bid for work release during his two-year prison sentence in a gun case, a denial that could keep him behind bars until at least next spring, prison officials said Tuesday (Sportsline)."

I have to admit I thought they would give it to him. Now you have to wonder if he will be able to play next year, if Goodell decides to suspend him. I really think Goodell should let this one slide. I don't even like Burress, but 2 years in prison is enough for weapon possession. I mean the guy shot himself on top of it, cut him some slack.

Charles Rogers Arrested....Again

"Police say ex-Detroit Lions and Michigan State receiver Charles Rogers has been arrested after apparently drinking too much and passing out at a Mexican restaurant. He's scheduled to appear Wednesday in district court.

Novi Deputy Chief Tom Lindberg said Wednesday that Rogers was arrested at the suburban Detroit restaurant Tuesday afternoon on a warrant for disobeying a sobriety court order. Lindberg says Rogers was visibly intoxicated Tuesday and was taken to a hospital (ESPN)."

What a fuck up. Draft bust, took steroids, career fell apart, and now he can't even keep himself out of jail. I really liked Rogers in college (Michigan State), but I can't defend anything he has done as a pro....what a fuckup.

Saints Bobby McCray Arrested For DUI

"New Orleans police say that Saints defensive end Bobby McCray has been arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated and other counts. Police spokesman Gary Flot says McCray was stopped by an officer who saw him speeding about 4:30 a.m. Tuesday. He was booked into Orleans Parish Prison on charges of driving while intoxicated, speeding, careless operation of a motor vehicle and not having his vehicle registration with him. Flot says McCray did not resist. A Saints spokesman says team officials are aware of the situation and will let the legal process take its course (ESPN)."

What a fucking idiot. His team is falling apart around him, and he goes out and causes a big distraction for the Saints. I still think the Saints can get it going again, but these are the types of things that can easily be avoided.

Note to all NFL players...Nothing good happens after mid night. Be smart. Go Home.

Pulp Fiction Writer Gets A Year In Jail

"An Oscar-winning screenwriter of "Pulp Fiction" has been sentenced to a year in jail for causing a fatal traffic crash in Southern California. Roger Avary was sentenced Tuesday in a Ventura court. He also received five years of probation. Avary pleaded guilty in August to gross vehicular manslaughter and drunken driving for the 2008 crash that killed a passenger in Avary's Mercedes in Ventura County. Authorities say Avary's car was traveling at more than 100 mph when it crashed into a telephone pole. Avary's wife was ejected from the vehicle and was treated for non-life-threatening injuries (Fandango)."

If this was you or me we would be in jail for no less then 15 year. This is just like the Stallworth case, but worse since this dude was going 100 MPH with his wife in the car!!!! Anyways, Pulp Fiction is one of my favorite movies of all time. Maybe that's why he got off so easy....

Student Gets 7 Years For Changing Grades

"Former Florida A&M University student Marcus Barrington was sentenced Monday to seven years in federal prison for his involvement in a March grade change scandal. Barrington’s accomplices, Lawrence Secrease and Christopher Jacquette, pleaded guilty and are currently serving their 22-month sentence. This brings an end to Barrington’s sentencing schedule, which has been delayed several times (FoxNews)."

Not that changing grades isn't a big deal, but 7 fucking years seems like an extremely harsh punishment. I don't know the whole story, but I just don't see why this is such a big deal. It seems like something where they would just rip up your diploma and send you on your way, but instead this kids life is realy over....

Burress Gets 2 Years In Jail

"Former Super Bowl star Plaxico Burress was sentenced Tuesday to two years in prison for possessing a gun at a night club. The former New York Giants star tearfully told his family goodbye as he surrendered to begin his prison stint for attempted criminal possession of a weapon after accidentally shooting himself in the thigh. Burress was indicted on two counts of weapon possession and one count of reckless endangerment and pleaded guilty Aug. 20. He had faced a minimum sentence of 3½ years on those charges if convicted at trial. He pleaded to the lesser charge and agreed to the two-year term (Sportsline)."

Most likely Burress will only serve 20 months of that sentence, but his career is basically done. What a waste of talent. he must be humiliated. It is not like he killed anyone he is just a fucking moron who gets to go to jail for shooting himself in the leg.....HAHAHAHA

Breaking News: Plaxico Gets 2 Years In Jail

"Former New York Giants receiver Plaxico Burress pleaded guilty Thursday to a weapons charge and agreed to a two-year prison term for accidentally shooting himself at a Manhattan nightclub. Burress pleaded guilty to one count of attempted criminal possession of a weapon, a lesser charge than he initially faced. Under a plea agreement, he agreed to a two-year prison sentence and two years of supervised release (Sportsline)."

First off....HAHAAHHAHAHAHA, what a fucking moron.

This is kind of bullshit though. Stallworth killed someone and he gets a couple months in prison. Plaxico shoots himself and gets 2 years? Doesn't make sense to me, but since I hate him so much I can just sit back and laugh about this one...

Goodbye Plaxico's career...what a waste of talent.

Mom Gets 99 Years for Cutting Off Son's Genitals

"A Houston-area mother convicted of mutilating her infant by cutting off his genitals two years ago was sentenced Monday to 99 years in prison (FoxNews)."

I know little kids can be annoying, but Jesus....take it easy. This kid's life is fucked....only in Texas would something like this happen.

Inmate Hot Sauce

"A group of Tampa inmates is offering a taste of what it's like jail — no locks, bars or handcuffs required. But you'd better have an tough stomach to use more than a dash of their "Jailhouse Fire Hot Sauce." Minimum-security Hillsborough County Jail inmates offer it in "Original," "Smoke" and "No Escape" varieties, all made from their jail-grown peppers. They came up with the recipe and started selling it in 2005. Since then, horticulture instructor Allen Boatman estimates they've made $10,000 on the sauce. Each bottle is $7. The income is used to keep up the greenhouse and buy basic supplies (FoxNews)."

I love hot sauce, so I'd try this, but they really better have a whole bunch of people testing this before it is open to the public. I mean, what did these guys go to jail for? Murder, because if that is what it is, then this just seems reckless. Still, hook me up with a No Escape hot sauce and get out of my way...

Travis Henry Gets 3 Years In Jail

"A federal judge Wednesday sentenced former NFL player Travis Henry to three years in prison for financing a drug ring that moved cocaine between Colorado and Montana.
Henry, 30, of Frostproof, Fla., was arrested by federal drug agents last October -- just a few months after the running back's release from the Denver Broncos. He pleaded guilty in April to a single count of conspiracy to traffic cocaine. In handing down Wednesday's sentence, U.S. District Judge Richard Cebull in Billings also gave Henry five years of probation and recommended he enter a 500-hour drug treatment program (Sportsline)."

Man Travis Henry is a douche bag. He has 11 children from 10 different women, then he gets caught for steroids, now he is selling cocaine. Wow, what a great dad, but to be honest if I had 11 kids I would probably be selling coke too....

Stallworth Released From Jail

Well that was fast...

"Cleveland Browns wide receiver Donte' Stallworth has been released from a Miami jail after serving 24 days for DUI manslaughter. His attorney, Christopher Lyons, says Stallworth was released from the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center early Friday (Sportsline)."

It is kind of fucked up to think about how much the public rips apart Vick, yet I bet no one will say boo about Stallworth. It is just funny where the priorities are. Don't get me wrong both are terrible people, but I just find that funny. Anyways, it is also fucked up that he only served 24 days in jail. If DP or I killed someone in a DUI crash we would not be seeing the light of day for at least 10 years. It really is bullshit...

J.R. Smith Gets 90 Days In Jail

A judge sentenced Denver Nuggets guard J.R. Smith to 90 days in jail Tuesday night for causing an auto accident that killed his friend, though Smith will likely end up serving only 30. Municipal Judge Debra J. Gelson suspended 60 days of the sentence providing Smith performs 500 hours of community service consisting of visiting sick children at hospitals. Smith, who grew up in this town about 20 miles east of Trenton, was taken to county jail Tuesday night to begin serving his sentence.

"He's 23 years old; he's a tough kid and he's going to do these four weeks and come out a better person," said Kevin Hextall, an attorney representing Smith.

Gelson also suspended Smith's license for two years, to begin next March after Smith's current license suspension expires. Smith, who didn't comment after the sentencing, expressed regret at causing the accident that killed his friend, 21-year-old Andre Bell of East Orange, in June 2007.

"It's been unbearable to deal with," he said to the court. "I am deeply sorry. I never intended for this to happen. It tears me up that it went down like that (Sportsline)."

Smith has so much talent, but he seems to prefer just being a thug instead of improving. He really does have the talent to be a top player in this league. Now that he has one of the best PG in the NBA on his team this is really his chance to take off. The sentence will not affect him basketball life, unless they go NFL on his and suspend him (which I would be for). Anyways, he'll end up serving 30 days, and then be on the street again...

60,000 Raped In Prison

In the least shocking news I have read in awhile....

"More than 60,000 inmates are sexually abused every year, according to a report being made public Tuesday by the National Prison Rape Elimination Commission. The eight-member panel was formed under the 2003 Prison Rape Elimination Act (FoxNews)."

The only reason I put this up is because I was reading the comment sections, and people were shocked by this. Really? You get raped if you go to jail? HAHA, I mean come on this is something you learn the first time you see a prison movie. Even Shawshank Redemption had a prison rape scene. Anyways, I'll never understand why prisoners do this. I mean I know there aren't girls, but still just really doesn't make sense to me. Then again killing people doesn't really make a whole lot of sense to me either (unless it is Cecil Fielder, or Shia Labeouf).

Just an excuse to put this video back up...

Stallworth Going To Jail

"Donte' Stallworth began serving a 30-day jail sentence Tuesday for killing a pedestrian while driving drunk in Florida, a punishment made possible by his cooperation with investigators and the fervent wish by the victim's family to put the matter behind them. Stallworth, 28, received the sentence after pleading guilty to a DUI manslaughter charge for striking and killing Mario Reyes while driving drunk March 14 in his black 2005 Bentley. The athlete also reached a confidential financial settlement with the family of the 59-year-old construction worker (Sportsline)."

This story really bothers me, because if this was any of us we would have been in jail for 15 years. The only reason I accept this at all is because the family of the victim was behind it, but in the end it was probably all about money. Goodell is going to need to step in here and suspended Stallworth for at least 6 games next season. If they are suspended players for DUIs and acting like idiots, then driving drunk and running over a guy should be met very harshly....

T.I. In Jail

"Rap star T.I. was sentenced in Atlanta federal court Friday to one year and one day in prison and ordered to pay a $100,300 fine on weapons charges related to purchasing machine guns and silencers. The rapper, whose real name is Clifford Harris, reached the terms of the sentence in a plea agreement with prosecutors last year. "I would like to say thank you to some, and apologize to others," Harris said at his sentencing. "In my life, I have been placed in the worst-case scenario and had to make the best of it," he said. "Most often, things I have learned have been from trial and error. I knew no way to protect myself than to arm myself (CNN.com)."

I honestly couldn't care less about the "rubber band man", but I had to laugh at some of his comments. You don't know any other way to protect yourself....really? You are a fucking millionaire, they have these great things called body guards, and they kind of do whatever you want, so that you don't get killed or go to jail. I get that it's hard living in poverty, but when you get out you really need to open your eyes. 'Keeping it really" doesn't really do anything except jail time or death. What a fucking idiot for fucking up everything, when all he had to do was hire some goons.

I also find it hilarious his name is Clifford, because I think of those stupid children's books I was read to in like kindergarten...and definitely not a gun toting maniac.

Vick Gets Release Date

"A government official says imprisoned NFL star Michael Vick has been approved for release to home confinement. Vick's lawyers have said they expected him to be moved any day into a halfway house in Newport News, Va. But the official says there's no bed space, so Vick could be released to his Hampton, Va., home as soon as May 21 (Sportsline)."

No word on how long he will be confined to his home, but this is the first step toward Vick coming back to the NFL. I still think he has a long road in front of him, as Roger Goodell will most likely suspended for a while, or at least he should since he has been doing it to other NFL players who have been in trouble with the law. Expect the Falcons to eventually cut him, as no one is going to want to trade for the contract he is under now, and there is no way the Falcons will being him back.

Leave Vick Alone!!!

"Michael Vick is back in Virginia to face state dogfighting charges (ESPN)."

Vick did some terrible things, but this is getting out of control. Vick has already had all his money taken away, about two years of his life, and the best part of his football career. Enough is enough, I love dogs, but there needs to be some kind of end of shitting on Michael Vick. He would have been better off killing a human. I really believe that when his sentence is complete he should be left alone, and allowed to be able to play in the NFL. If they keep letting PacMan back, they really have no reason not to allow Vick to play.
