Ummm, How Come This Wasn't Implemented Years Ago?

This is the most genius idea that I have ever seen in my life. How the hell did we overlook such a beautiful idea until now, I would have killed for a Celtics/ Sox/ Steelers ring pop.

Whoever, made this idea better make them country wide because this is an idea that all of us should partake in. I don't care if this ring is for Dallas, it symbolizes LeBron losing. I would wear this ring everyday of my life before the season resumes.

Cuban Looking To Buy Dodgers

This is the "God I hope this is true" story of the day. Mark Cuban is interested in buying the Dodgers once MLB takes control of them, which seems inevitable at this point. His exact quote was "if they're fixable and the deal is right, then I'm very interested." Mr. Cuban you are a billionaire, everything is fixable in baseball with money.

Yet, there are still at lot of hurdles. Frank McCourt (Dodgers current owner) is going to fight tooth and nail to keep this team. He is also going to sue the MLB if he looses it. That could make such a mess of things that it might not be worth it for Cuban.

Beyond that there have been rumors the MLB wants no part of Cuban in the MLB. They don't like how outspoken he is, and would rather not deal with. This is the stupidest thing I have ever heard. There is a billionaire that wants to own a team. At a time when 10 of your MLB teams are in debt, they should be begging him to join. Plus, he is a celebrity, and would bring some much needed press to the sport that has been lacking, since the NFL and NBA exploded on the scene. Shit, even the NHL is starting to get good numbers.

The MLB needs Mark Cuban. I know I have said it a million times, but owners like him do a couple things. They bring interest to the game, they will do everything to win, and to get a city like Los Angeles to have interest in baseball should be on the top of things to do in the MLB.

Mark Cuban Might Be The Best Owner In Sports

Mark Cuban is loud, arrogant, and that's all right with me. I think I can sit here now and say he might be the best owner in all of sports. I will skip what we all know. Mark Cuban is in the press constantly, blasts refs, is on of the biggest owner fans ever, was on Dancing with the Stars, and says whatever the hell he wants.

Let's just skip to what he did right after the Mavericks finally won the Championship. He could've sat their and raised the trophy like we all thought he would. Instead he bring out the original owner of the Mavericks and let's him do. Then he wouldn't talk to the media, letting his players do all the talking. Now, he has come out, and said that they are doing a parade, and oh yea "it's on me". Remember a year ago when the Laker couldn't figure out how to get tax payers to pay for the parade. Well, it's because they shouldn't have to. Cuban exact quote...

"We'll do it," Cuban said early Monday morning. "All I told them was -- Terdema Ussery, our president -- you plan the parade. I'll pay for it because I don't think it's right for the city to have to pay for it. And let's just have some fun."

That's the coolest thing I have ever read, because I believe everything he is saying. He knows this doesn't happen often, he knows he has the money, and he just wants to have some fun. Then he goes on...

"I might not get rings," the Mavs' billionaire owner told NBATV. "Rings are old school. You've seen it before: There's guys who pick up the sweats and towels and they have these big, blingy rings. I'm like, 'Rings are done. It's time to take it to the next level.'"

With this guy who knows what he will do. Maybe he will get them all some championship belts. I actually guarantee they will get rings too, but I bet he does something really cool. Bottom line is why wouldn't you want to play for an owner like this? And.. Shouldn't this be how all owners act? And this is yet another reason why the MLB desperately needs to let a guy like this own a team.

105 Dallas, 95 Heat

Before I go on a LeBron induced rant, I am really happy for Dirk, Mark Cuban, Jason Kidd, Shawn Marion, Peja, Jason Terry and even Desean Stevenson.

This game was pretty much dominated by the Mavs and their 3 point shooting. Yes, Miami may have been in striking distance but whenever they made a run, the Mavs would respond in a big way. Dirk struggled big time in the 1st half, but Jason Terry covered for him and had many of his 27 points in the 1st half.

In the 2nd half Dirk turned it on and finished the game with 20 points and 11 boards. Including a dagger fade away with 1:20 left putting them up 12.

Now to LeBron and the Heat.

What the fuck was that, LeBron once again disappeared in the 4th quarter in not 1, not 2 but 3 games in the NBA finals. It doesn't make any sense and anyone who watched last nights game, had to have got the weird feeling like when Cavs rolled over for the Celtics last year. Everyone was too passive, LeBron was passive and no one wanted to try and take over the game. LeBron averaged 17 points a game these finals, that's just not acceptable for a player who proclaimed they would win 7 championships.

To be honest, LeBron was the 3rd most important person in the finals behind Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh.

LeBron remains a loser. !st here is his quote about being asked about how he feels about all the haters, “At the end of the day, all the people that was rooting on me to fail – at the end of the day they have to wake up tomorrow and have the same life that they had before they woke up today,” James said. “They have the same personal problems they had today …" Dick. And this was his chicken shit twitter last night, The Greater Man upstairs know when it's my time. Right now isn't the time. It's fucking bullshit, he's hiding behind God now? He built this target on his chest and now can't handle it. He really needs to learn to stop putting a foot in his mouth.

Mavs Win Finals

105 Dallas, 95 Heat
HAHAHAHAHA

Fuck yea!

LeChoke strikes again!

Cost the Heat the series!

Mavericks 112, Heat 103

Both offenses exploded last night, each surpassing the century mark for the first time in the series. Miami's 52.9% shooting was impressive, but Dallas' 56.5% was just a bit more so. The Heat spent most of the game without Wade, then essentially spent the 4th quarter without LeBron.

If Dallas didn't win this one, I felt like the series would be over. Down 3-2 going back to Miami would have been too tough to overcome. And while the Mavs still have to win one more game, they needed this game last night.

Dirk Nowitski had another stellar performance with 29 points. But the hype around him is a little surprising. I won't go so far as to say he's overrated. I think maybe he was underrated before this run by the Mavs. Now people feel the need to exaggerate. Still, he is carrying Dallas on those German shoulders.

It was a team effort for the Mavs, though. Jason Terry scored 21 off the bench, Jose Juan Barea added 17, Kidd had 13, and Chandler had 13. The Mavericks hit 68.4$ of their three pointers.

LeBron James had a triple-double with 17 points, 10 boards, and 10 assists. But he only scored 2 points in the 4th. That night kind of sums up what his critics think of his career.

Game 6 Sunday night.

I Want to Watch the NBA Finals, But...

I don't like LeBron James. I hate him. I have no opinion of the Mavs, but they might be my 3rd favorite team in all of sports at the moment. I never liked James, his "Decision" made me like him less, and now LeBron ball-washers like Michael Wilbon portray him as a victim so I hate him even more. If you don't want media scrutiny, don't produce your own TV shows.

So I've been trying to watch the NBA Finals, rooting against the Heat. And they've been great games. But the endless commercials make it impossible for me to watch more than a minute at a time. And why do these teams need 6 timeouts each? It's so boring. Regular timeouts, TV timeouts, then ABC turns a 20 second timeout into a 30 second timeout with a commercial, then the players need 10 more seconds to get set for the play.

The most exciting 2 minutes of the game take 12 minutes to unfold. That doesn't build excitement, it's just annoying.

I can occasionally like watching basketball, especially the final minutes of a close playoff game. I don't like commercials, I don't like watching basketball players stand around and do nothing. It's just aggravating. And you know what else is boring? Free throws. I can't think of much outside of baseball that's more uninteresting than a free throw.

Get rid of the timeouts, get rid of the 15 seconds it takes to line up a free throw, and reduce the commercials. Also play the game on ice and allow contact.

Brendan Haywood Done In Finals?

Haywood was able to play in Game 4, but was only able to play 3 minutes. It sounds like his hip isn't getting any better, and doctors say his injury usually takes 4-6 weeks to heal. Obviously, Haywood will keep trying, but it is sounds more and more likely that Haywood has played his last minutes in the Finals. It's not the end of the World for the Mavs, but it does hurt their rebounding which is something I thought they could have an advantage in going into the series. Ian Mahinmi will likely take his place.

86 Mavs, 83 Heat

LeDouche had 8 points, 8 points, that's how many the Bruins had last game. He shot 3 for 11 had 9 boards and 7 assists. For someone that has the tattoo Chosen One across his back and in a crucial game in the NBA finals, that's just not good enough. With all due respect to DeShawn Stevenson and the Mavericks defense, no one should be able to hold LeFag under 10 points. Of course for me, an avid LeJerk hater, I love it, I hope this gets in his head, and i hope the Heat lose the next 2 and I hope LeQueer is the scapegoat and then has to retire because the pressure is too much.

Speaking of pressure, a guy who has constantly been criticized for bowing out when the game is on the line Dirk Nowitski put together a hell of a performance last night. With a 101 fever and the flu, he willed the Mavs to win scoring 10 of his 21 points in the 4th quarter.

Speaking of defense, Tyson Chandler (who's a free agent and would be perfect for the Celtics) had himself a grown man game 13 points, 16 boards (including 9 offensive) and has definitely made the difference in Big D. Game 6 will be back in Miami.

88 Heat, 86 Mavs

2 games until I'm on suicide watch. I hate watching this series, because the Mavs go down by a million points and then come back so you can't ever shut the game off in disgust. And who last night decided to punch me in the dick, Chris fucking Bosh. You know I have to give the guy credit, all of us have chalked it up to this guy sucks, but he won as many games for the Heat as Lefag and Wade. Bosh hit a token KG jumper for the win (figuring Dirk missed a tough fade away at the buzzer).

I don't know what to think about this series, I really really really want the Heat to lose it, but they are playing such awesome defense and not making stupid turnovers. I have nothing else to say, but I went to sleep last night cursing.

Fuck

95 Mavs, 93 Heat

Well thank god the Mavs won this game because it looked like it was going to be over in the 4th. Miami took a 15 point lead only to squash it in the 4th and it was capped off by Dirk Nowitzki making the tiebreaking layup with 3.6 seconds left.

The final play was a thing of beauty, Jason Kidd dribbled the ball down to 10 seconds then gave it to Dirk at the top of the key with Chris Bosh defending. Instead of settling with an off balance jumper or a fade away, dirk took it to Chirs Bosh spun passed him and got an uncontested lay up.

The next 3.6 seconds were terrifying as Lebron pushed it up passed it to Dwayne Wade and he got a look 4 steps beyond the arc that barely missed.

This was a huge game as the Mavs stole home court back and won what has to be a mentally exhausting game for the Heat. The series is tied at 1-1.

I Can't Ignore it, The Heat Are 3 Games From Me Seriously Considering Committing Suicide

I went to bed at halftime, something woke me up when there was 1 minute left in the game. I believe that was God's way of playing a practical joke on me. "This will be funny, Dave is asleep and having a dream about him and Kate Upton, let me wake him up from that to see the Heat win" Thanks God, that was a punch to the dick.

the Heat are 3 games away from taking the title. the Scary thing is that they held Dallas to 84 points. Yes, Dallas shot horribly and missed A LOT of open looks, but this isn't a great way to start off the series. If you look at the positives for Dallas you can say they held Miami to 92 points, They missed a ton of open looks, and it could have been rust from the layoff. I'll bank on that, but more and more it looks like LeDouche is going to be winning his 1st title..... Shucks.

Fuck! The Heat Are In The Finals

I know there is still 1 game left, but the writing is on the wall.

I don't know why I watch the Eastern Conference Finals, I keep getting let down. LeBron is playing at the top of his game, he is making every right move and whenever the Bulls have a shot of taking the game they fuck up and do something stupid. They are completely vindicated of what happened last summer. I hate that.

With the game tied at 85 Derrick Rose takes a stupid one on one fade away and then in overtime they played like a bunch of assholes, turning the ball over, not being able to inbound the ball and awful shot selection.

So this means the the Miami Heat and LeBron are most likely going to face the Dallas Mavericks led by the German Shepherd (Dirk). So Dallas is my only hope to stop the Heat from the title. (The Thunder are toast)

God I fucking Hate LeBron

Stay Classy Lakers

The Lakers run is officially over after the Dallas Mavericks completed a 4 game sweep of the defending champs. But the sweep didn't just go without controversy as Lamar Odom and Andrew Bynum got thrown out of the games in the 4th. I'm fine with Odom's foul, but Bynum was the biggest bush league attack I've ever seen in my life. JJ Berrea was going up for an uncontested lay up and Andrew Bynum threw an elbow at him when he was defenseless.

I feel that they are going to blow up this team after this embarrassing loss because the writing is on the wall. Phil Jackson is gone and Bynum will never be in a Laker uniform again and this is going to be a whole new team going forward.

Breaking News: Artest Is An Idiot

"Artest has indeed been suspended for Game 3, according to Chris Broussard of ESPN The Magazine (ESPN)."

By now we all know Artest will not be playing in Game 3, and he shouldn't. Artest went out of his way to make a stupid play and now he is going to have to pay the price. The trouble is that it couldn't come at a worse time for the Lakers. They are down 0-2 and heading to Dallas. Hell, they are in worse shape the Celtics right now. Am I sold the Mavericks will beat the Lakers? No, I never count out Kobe, I'm not that stupid, but we can start to see the writing on the wall.

Any nit wit that rights for a site has written a post about the "changing of the guard" in the NBA. Listen, no shit. We all knew the Lakers, Celtics, Spurs were on their last legs. Maybe this is the year, but stop acting like it's a big fucking surprise. We have been talking about this since the Big 3 came together in Boston. We all knew it was a limited time deal, and actually it lasted a year longer then I thought it would.

Do I think the end is upon us this year? No, I'm not sold. Boston always brings it at home, and I think they will again. Am I bias, damn right I am, but I am also someone who blasts the Celtics, maybe more then anyone else on this site, and I'm just not sold this is it. Nor am I sold that LeChoke has finally turned the corner.

So, Thunder/Heat the future is yours, but don't count out this one last run.

And oh yea, Artest should just kill himself, but thanks for fucking up the Lakers.

NBA PLAYOFFS Round 2 Preview

The first round is in the books (as is Game 1 of the second round for both Boston/Miami and OKC/Memphis) and we're on to the Conference Semifinals.

In my playoff power rankings I touched on a few things that proved to be correct, and a few things I narrowly missed on. The Hornets did need Chris Paul to play other-wordly to beat the Lakers, and for two games he was just that. Unfortunately, they couldn't expect him to do that for the whole series and Los Angeles survived an ugly 1st round series. I also mentioned that everyone was loving Portland but I still had a feeling Dallas might have one more run in the tank...and it looks like they do. On the other hand I gave Indiana no chance to win a game against Chicago and they took two! Chicago doesn't look nearly as scary when Rose is shooting poorly. I also misread the ORL/ATL series in round one, despite the fact that my gut told me Orlando was really bad. I still don't believe in Atlanta much, but hopefully they can make the series with Chicago entertaining.

And with that...let's get into some series previews.

EASTERN CONFERENCE

1. Chicago Bulls vs. 5. Atlanta Hawks

Indiana did exactly what any team should try and do against the Bulls - which is to try and contain Rose to long jumpers and trap him off of pick and rolls. They had some success, although Rose ultimately was too much to handle with his athleticism. Let's get this out there right now - you can't keep him away from the rim for a whole game unless he decides to do so. He isn't a high percentage shooter, and certainly wasn't shooting well against Indiana, but he still gets his points on layups, dunks and free throws when he's not going well. Keeping him out of the paint and off the line will be paramount to Atlanta's success. The Hawks will also want to keep a long arm in the face of Kyle Korver who was a big shot factory in round one. I normally hate on Korver pretty hard but he was big in round one, when no other Bulls were really stepping up.
Carlos Boozer can sometimes struggle against lengthy defenders like Horford and Pachulia, so it will be key for Noah to have a big series on both ends.

Bulls win if...Rose is Rose and scores and distributes. (I know sounds simple, but I really think that is all they need.)

Hawks win if...Rose continues poor shooting, or gets banged up and Joe Johnson starts earning some of that contract he got.

PREDICTION - Bulls in 5.

2. Miami Heat vs. 3. Boston Celtics

Game one is already in the books, and we know what happened there. Pierce came unraveled and Wade had a tremendous game as Miami jumped to an early big lead and never looked back.
Three things concern me about the first game for the Celtics.
1) Rondo lacked the aggression he showed through most of the NYK series. (Although to be fair, he was in foul trouble)
2) Jermaine O'Neal was nowhere to be found. (He was huge against Knicks and needs to be in this series. He should be tearing up Joel Anthony on both ends)
3) Lack of effort. All game long it looked like they were reaching for loose balls and grasping as Heat players as they got burned on D, instead of moving their feet and getting after it. After a long break they shouldn't come out like that - and you know Doc was on 'em about it. I don't expect that to last, but it needs to change fast.

Van Gundy and company made a salient point yesterday in that Miami has the most athletic perimeter in the league and the extra pass (something Boston usually does quite well) will be key in this series. And on defense they really need to stay home on James Jones and Mike Miller and get their rotations tighter.
Look for Miami to exploit their athleticism all series long and the drive and dish for three should be their main weapon of choice.

Miami wins if...Rondo can't destroy MIA PGs and Wade and James display great cohesion.

Boston wins if...They use their veteran presence to get under skin on Miami role players - and King James for that matter. (NOT reacting like Pierce did yesterday.)

PREDICTION - Boston in 7.

WESTERN CONFERENCE

2. Los Angeles Lakers vs. 3. Dallas Mavericks

Hard to believe but this is the first time in the "Dirk/Kobe" era that these two have met in the playoffs. It should be a great series both on and off the court, as I can't wait to see some Mark Cuban shenanigans and hopefully some firing back and forth between he and Zen Master Phil.
As I think about this series, I'm not really sure what to make of it. Part of me wants to think Dallas has a real shot - especially with the Lakers recent play and Kobe maybe a bit banged up and certainly getting long in the tooth. However, I just think LA has been doing this too long, and ultimately Kobe, Gasol, Odom and Bynum will be too much for Dirk and company. However, if Jason Kidd can exploit the PG position somewhat like Chris Paul - obviously in a much less dynamic fashion - and Jason Terry can shake loose for his patented big shots they might be able to pull it off. I think stealing a game 1 in LA would be a huge boost to the effort.

Los Angeles wins if... Gasol comes out of his hole and starts resembling the player that we saw in last year's playoffs and they dominate the glass.

Dallas wins if... Dirk plays huge all series and Chandler can make Gasol into a jelly donut like New Orleans did.

PREDICTION - Los Angeles in 6.

4. Oklahoma City Thunder vs. 8. Memphis Grizzlies

Memphis took game one on the road in convincing fashion yesterday. It might be time to start believing in Memphis. They basically tore up a dilapidated San Antonio team, and have now taken the home court from Oklahoma City - who many saw as the best team in the West. Zach "Zebo" Randolph has been huge in these playoffs and the Grizzlies actually have a very 'OKC up-and-comer' type of feel about them. They are a fairly young team with nothing to lose and playing with a certain swagger. It also seems that Pau had his mojo stolen by his little brother, Marc Gasol who is playing as well as Pau is playing poorly.
On the other hand, if OKC can avoid panicking and another me-against-the-world type of game from Russell Westbrook they should still pull this series out.

Oklahoma City wins if... Durant gets off and Westbrook reverts back to his "Robin" ways and quits trying to play "Batman". (That's Durant's job)

Memphis wins if... Zebo keeps playing well and Durant gets shutdown by Tony Allen and the Grizzlie perimeter defenders.

PREDICTION - Oklahoma City in 7

Shawn Marion's Finger Is Gross

I just saw this on ESPN, and that thing is fucking gross. I guess he has jammed and dislocated so many time that it is permanently like that. I can't believe that he just leaves it like that. He says he has no plans to get it fixed, because he has full movement, but one would think once he retires he would get that thing fixed. Anyways, just something to watch for if you ever have a Mavs game on.

Mavericks @ Celtics Preview

The Mavericks struggled for a bit, but now they have one 6 in a row as they head to Boston. The Celtics have been playing well too winning 8 of their last 10 and so far have the best record in the East leading the Heat by 2 1/2 games.

Nowitzki's 27.3 points per game versus Boston are his most against any opponent, and Dallas fans should be really impressed by that as the Celtics have one of the strongest defensive units in the NBA. Dirk, as you would expect is the key to the Mavericks, when he was out they lost seven of the nine. The Mavericks are always known for putting some serious points up and this year looks to be no different as they have averaged 104.5 points during their six consecutive wins, but it is their improved defense that is giving their fans hope that they can make some noise in the playoffs. Last game they held the high scoring Knicks to 45 2nd half points.

The Celtics are pretty much unbeatable at home with a 22-3 record at the Garden. As I stated before Boston is known for their defense which is proven by the fact they haven't let any of its last 10 opponents make half their shots. That is made more even more impressive by the fact they just finished a West coast road trip.

If there is a reason for the Mavericks to be hopeful it's the fact that Boston is 16-0 against the East at home, but just 6-3 versus West opponents in the Garden. Still, I think Boston's defense is just too much, it'll be close but Boston comes out with another win.

Celtics win 103-99
Tommy Award: Ray Allen
Game starts at 8pm on ESPN.

Peja Stojakovic To Mavericks

"The Mavs are close to a verbal agreement to sign Peja Stojakovic once he clears waivers Monday, two league sources confirmed to CBSSports.com. Only hours after his buyout with Toronto was finalized, the Mavs expressed "strong interest," said the source, who added that Dallas fits Stojakovic's desire to hook up with a Western Conference contender. Stojakovic is expected to sign a one-year deal at the prorated veteran's minimum of $1.4 million on Monday after the 48-hour waiver period expires (CBS Sports)."

Not a bad signing by the Mavericks. They really need a guy who can spread the floor after the loss of Caron Butler. Peja is still a guy that can knock down three, and score around 12-15 points a game. You give him a PG like Kidd I feel he can still be an asset to this team. One way he will not be is an asset is the defensive side of the court, but he really should only be a scoring option off the bench (like Eddie House/Nate Robinson).

89 Mavericks, 87 Celtics

It was a fun run, 5 in a row was impressive, but it all got halted thanks to Dirk Nowitzki and awful play execution at the end of the game.

The Celtics had this game, they were up by 5 with with 1:45 left on the clock. But couldn't get their shit together and let an aggressive Dirk and a broken play they ended in a Jason Terry 3 tied up the game.

Then with 17 seconds left a 7 foot Dirk drilled a jumper in the face of 6'8 Big Baby. It was a tough match up for the smaller Baby, but hey, Dirk is just a great player. It was the match up that you needed at that time because Dirk was really getting at KG. Overall KG's performance was impressive: 18 points (14 in the second half) and 15 rebounds, but like I said, struggled against Dirk.

Rondo had another huge game last night: 11 points, 6 rebounds, 15 assists, and 5 steals. He did shoot just 5-15 from the field, with most of those misses coming on jump shot attempts. I like it, he needs to learn to do that, and will be forced to learn that post big 3.

Now on to the last 17 seconds:
Nothing happened once the C's inbounded the ball with 17.4 ticks left and had a chance to tie the game or take the lead with a three-pointer. The play that happened ended with Rajon Rondo launched a wide-open three-pointer from the left wing that found nothing but iron with 5 seconds left. Ray Allen got the rebound and the Celtics called timeout with 1.5 seconds left after Jason Terry fouled him (they had a foul to give. On the ensuing inbounds play, Rondo couldn't find anyone and with the five second clock dwindling he was forced to throw it into Kevin Garnett who fired off an awful shot that was an air ball. Ugly.

Because I'm an optimist lets here the positives.
The played their tails off in a hard back to back game.

They were once down 12 points and came back and had a shot to win it.

A lot of those missed jumpers will go down in other games.
