The Mavericks struggled for a bit, but now they have one 6 in a row as they head to Boston. The Celtics have been playing well too winning 8 of their last 10 and so far have the best record in the East leading the Heat by 2 1/2 games.
Nowitzki's 27.3 points per game versus Boston are his most against any opponent, and Dallas fans should be really impressed by that as the Celtics have one of the strongest defensive units in the NBA. Dirk, as you would expect is the key to the Mavericks, when he was out they lost seven of the nine. The Mavericks are always known for putting some serious points up and this year looks to be no different as they have averaged 104.5 points during their six consecutive wins, but it is their improved defense that is giving their fans hope that they can make some noise in the playoffs. Last game they held the high scoring Knicks to 45 2nd half points.
The Celtics are pretty much unbeatable at home with a 22-3 record at the Garden. As I stated before Boston is known for their defense which is proven by the fact they haven't let any of its last 10 opponents make half their shots. That is made more even more impressive by the fact they just finished a West coast road trip.
If there is a reason for the Mavericks to be hopeful it's the fact that Boston is 16-0 against the East at home, but just 6-3 versus West opponents in the Garden. Still, I think Boston's defense is just too much, it'll be close but Boston comes out with another win.
Celtics win 103-99
