Melo Could Have Been Traded To The Knicks Yesterday

But the Knicks balked.

I'm not sure why either, a deal was in place where Melo and Billups went to the Knicks for Danillo Gallinari, Raymond Felton, a starter, Eddie Curry's expiring contract and a 1st round pick.

I know thats a lot and I know they could role the dice and have Melo sign in the offseason but I'm not sure why they wouldn't just say f it lets do it anyways. Melo would replace Gallinari and Billups would be a stop gap until Chris Paul becomes a free agent and whoever the other starters production would most likely be made up for by those two. I know it's a lot but the Knicks shouldn't keep balking at these deals because they could easily go and trade Melo to another team and they will have missed out on another opportunity since the failure of getting LeBron this offseason.

Either way I'm getting tired of all the Melo-drama.
