With The Number 13 Pick in the 2008 NFL Draft the Carolina Panthers Choose....
Rashard Mendenhall RB Illinois
This may seem like a reach to many with seemingly more pressing needs on the offensive and defensive line, however, I believe in Mendenhall and think he can be a great runningback in the NFL. With DeAngelo Williams and LaBrandon Toefield being the only runningbacks on the team, I think Mendenhall can and will overtake them for the starting runningback position. He has good size at 5-10, 225 and ran a 40 in 4.41 seconds, along with a good set of hands, which is great for a rb. I think Mendenhall will compete for rookie of the year and have an awesome nickname by the end of the year because Mendenhall is too long to keep saying.
