If the Bruins win tonight in Ottawa, AND either Carolina loses (in regulation or OT) against Florida OR Philadelphia loses (in regulation or OT) to New Jersey.
OR
If the Bruins lose in overtime tonight AND Carolina loses in regulation to Florida.
For those of you out there who are, like me, fans of symbolic logic, here's the Bruins' clinching scenario expressed logically:
{{Bw + [(Cl v Co) v (Pl v Po)]} v (Bo + Cl)} > Playoffs
That sort of shows how fucked up these scenarios are.
Even if the B's don't clinch tonight, a win will put them half a millimeter away from a playoff berth, particularly a regulation win. A regulation loss, however, might mean they would no longer control their own destiny on Saturday.
