1pm Game Recaps

(7-3)Tampa Bay 19 (5-5)Minnesota 13
Jeff Garcia did what he does best...play mistake free football, really Garcia just wins games. Tampa Bay held the Peterson/Taylor combo to under 100 yards, and their offense just did enough to squeak by the Vikings. The loss by the Vikings put them in a 3 way tie, because the Packers beat Chicago.

(5-5)Green Bay 37 (5-5)Chicago 3
The Packers finally looked like the team I thought they were, as Ryan Grant ran wild against the Bears defense for 145 yards and a TD. Rodgers was very accurate (23/30), and added 2 TDs of his own. The Bears offense was a mess (other then Forte). Orton couldn't move around the pocket with that busted up ankle, and the Packers defense made him pay. I hate to say it, but if he is that immobile then they might have to turn to Grossman.

(9-1)Giants 30 (6-4)Baltimore 10
The Giants very well could be the best team in the NFL, and they proved it once again today, as their running game ripped a very good Ravens defense for 207 yards (wow). Eli wasn't overly impressive, but he didn't have to be. The Giants are running away with the NFC East, and look even better then they were last year.

(6-4)Miami 17 (2-8)Oakland 15
It was not a cake walk for Miami, but a 38-yard field goal with 38 seconds left cap a 61-yard drive to give the Dolphins their 4th win in a row. The only notable offensive player in this game was Ronnie Brown who ran for 101 yards. The Dolphins just seem to find ways to win, and now really have to be looked at as a team that could challenge for the AFC East crown.

(5-5)New Orleans 30 (1-9)Kansas City 20
The Saints took care of business, but the Chiefs gave them a scare their for a bit as Tyler Thigpen's 2nd TD pass to Dwayne Bowe brought the Chiefs to within 7 points with 13:54 left. Not too long later Thigpen threw a pick and the game was over. Brees was solid (25/36 266 yards with 1 TD and 1 INT), and Thomas made some nice runs to bring the Saints back to .500, but they are still 3 games back in the NFC South.

(6-4)Indianapolis 33 (3-7)Houston 27
Indy won it's third game in a row, as Manning was unstoppable in the 2nd half, as he led the Colts to 4 straight scoring drives. The Colts may not have been getting pretty wins, but they have brought themselves back into the AFC playoff picture, and could be a very dangerous team coming down the stretch.

(8-2)Carolina 31 (0-10)Detroit 22
The Lions continued their perfect season, and Carolina is looking like a team that could be fighting for a playoff bye. The Panthers turned it on when they needed to, and the Lions made their normal mistakes to lose the game. Culpepper was solid, and maybe they can build on that, but I still see him as very turnover prone. Drew Stanton did not play in this game.

(6-4)Denver 24 (6-4)Atlanta 20
Jay Cutler threw a 9-yard touchdown pass to Daniel Graham with 5 1/2 minutes remaining to win the game. Ryan was solid, but they just didn't have enough to pull it out in the end. Atlanta is now 3rd in the NFC South, while Denver put even more separation between them in the 2nd place Chargers in the AFC West.

(5-4-1)Philadelphia 13 (1-8-1)Cincinnati 13
McNabb was horrible (3 ints 1 fumble), and this had to be one of the most painful games I have ever watched. The Eagles refused to give the ball to Westbrook even though the Bengals have a terrible rushing defense (he's on my fantasy team). On Top of that this game cost be 175 bucks. The Eagles are now in a lot of trouble, as they will have a very hard time making the playoffs now. Worst game of the year.....stupid ties.
