Making the first start of his 3 year career, Magic guard JJ Redick filled in for the injured Mickael Pietrus and performed quite admirably. His final line looked something like 34 minutes played, 10 points on 4-9 from the field (50% from behind the arc) along with 3 boards in the Magic 103-90 win against the struggling Raptors.
"Whenever I get a chance, I've got to do what I can to get back in the rotation," Redick said.
Magic Coach Stan Van Gundy intimated that Redick would continue to see action while Pietrus was laid up.
Orlando lead the league in 3 pointers last year knocking down more than 800. This year they have been dreadful shooting a mere 31%. All of a sudden the most prolific 3 point shooter in college basketball history makes his first NBA start and the Magic shoot some 20 percentage points better than their season average. Coincidence? I think not.
