Ortiz says that he is about a month away from swinging a bat. Doctors seem to think that Ortiz just needs to rest it, and it will be fine. Hopefully, not only will he feel better, but he will get the confidence to hit the ball to the opposite field. At the end of season, it was obvious that Ortiz was not willing to try to hit to left field, and pitchers noticed, so they only threw away to him. Big Papi is only a year removed from hitting 56 HRs, and though I don't think he will get back that high a HR total, I do expect him to be hitting around 40 HRs next season (if that wrist is healed).
