Oakland's owners thinks he has come up with a way to make the MLB playoffs shorter, make the first round a best of 1. Sorry Lew Wolff, that is just stupid. You can't have teams play 162 game regular season, and then have their entire season banked on a 1 game playoff. I am not sure if I even like that the first round is a best of 5, instead of the normal best of 7. I think to find the best team it takes at least 5 games, but certainly more then 1. If the MLB thinks the playoffs end too late (which I would agree), then take some games off that long 162 game season. Honestly, the season really doesn't need to be that long, but that can be said for almost all pro sports (with the exception of the NFL).
