Daily Red Sox Spring Training Update

The Sox are actually playing two games today. The first game will be against BC at 1:05pm. The 2nd game is against the Twins at 7:05pm.

Here is a look at the Sox lineup today for the BC game...

1. Julio Lugo, SS
2. Rocco Baldelli, LF
3. David Ortiz, DH
4. J.D. Drew, RF
5. Chris Carter, 1B
6. George Kottaras, C
7. Jonathan Van Every, CF
8. Nick Green, 2B
9. Angel Chavez, 3B
-Josh Beckett, SP

An interesting note is that Dan Shaugnessy's son will be playing for BC today, and hitting cleanup. I hope Beckett hits with a fastball off the face. Other interesting things to watch will be how in shape Beckett looks, if Ortiz looks healthy, and if Lugo can show any reason why the Red Sox should start him this season.

The later game is against the Twins. Here is a look at who will be playing in that game...

1. Jacoby Ellsbury, CF
2. Dustin Pedroia, 2B
3. Kevin Youkilis, 1B
4. Jason Bay, LF
5. Brad Wilkerson, RF
6. Jed Lowrie, SS
7. Jeff Bailey, DH
8. Josh Bard, C
9. Gil Velazquez, 3B
-Tim Wakefield/Ramon Ramirez

It is being reported that Ellsbury had put on a lot of muscle this offseason, so it will be interesting to see if it adds anymore power to his game. This will also be our first look at Ramon Ramirez, who could be one of the most important acquisitions the Red Sox made this offseason. Both games should be shown on NESN.
