Major College Football Injuries

Notre Dame will likely be without wide receiver Michael Floyd for the rest of the regular season. Floyd underwent surgery Sunday for a broken left collar bone. Coach Charlie Weis said he hasn't been told how long Floyd will be out, but he expects to be without him the rest of the way. Floyd might be available for a bowl game "if we chose to go in that direction," Weis said.

This hurts the highly overrated Notre Dame. As losing a 6-3 220 WR is never a good thing. Jimmy Clausen also needs a MRI on his right foot. Either way Notre Dame is going to have at least 4 or 5 losses this season.

USF's senior QB Matt Grothe is out for the season with a torn ACL. Grothe had started 41 straight games for the Bulls (3-0), who play at No. 18 Florida State this week. He became the Big East's career leader in total offense with 10,875 yards in Week 2 at Western Kentucky. He had 121 rushing yards and 512 passing yards this season. Grothe is known for that remarkable year he had with USF when they were ranked absurdly high. However, the ride is over for him.
