Yankees Sweep Red Sox

So it was probably the last thing Sox fans wanted to see. The Yankees have won the AL East, and they did it by sweeping the Sox at Yankee Stadium. A lot of fans are freaking out right now, but I am not worried in the least. Here is why...

1. Getting in the playoffs is all that matters. Would it have been nice to win the division? Sure, but there are things that are far more important.

2. Is there any team with a better starting rotation going into the playoffs? Lester (who thank god is fine) has been outstanding most of the year, Beckett seems to be finding his rhythm again (not to mention he is one of the best playoff pitchers of all-time), Buchholz has been amazing for just about 2 months now, and Dice-K has been great since his return.

3. The hitting is starting to click. Bay has been outstanding, Papi has his power back, so if everyone can just stay healthy they should be in good shape.

4. So the Sox lost the division. What is their punishment? Oh yea, they get to play the Angels, who the Sox have kicked the shit out of over and over again.

So, you see Sox fans not all is lost. I am actually really excited for the playoffs to start. My only concern coming out of this series is the play of the bullpen. Still, I trust power pitchers come playoff time and the Sox have a lot of those in that bullpen.
