Red Sox @ Royals Preview

Tonight the Sox have a pitcher on the hill that could have a lot to do with their success in the postseason, as Clay Buchholz takes on Anthony Lerew. Buchholz has won his last five decisions and the Red Sox are 7-3 in their last 10 games. Since it seems Buchholz will be the Red Sox #3 pitcher behind Lester and Beckett it is very important that he keeps the good times rolling.

Lerew has fought back from Tommy John surgery to make his first major league appearance since May 19, 2007. The Royals had to search fro pitchers not named Grienke after losing Gil Meche, Kyle Davies and Brian Bannister due to injury.

These types of games can be funny, since the Sox will know very little about this guy. If I had to make a prediction I would say the Sox will get shut down for the first 3 innings, but then light him up once they get an at-bat under their belts.

Game starts at 8:10 on NESN.
