Julien Shakes Up The Lines

Bruins' coach Claude Julien made some adjustments in his top two lines at practice at Ristuccia Arena today.

For the first five games, he used these combinations (from left to right):

Milan Lucic-Marc Savard-Marco Sturm
Blake Wheeler-David Krejci-Michael Ryder

Today, here is what the new combinations were (from left to right);

Sturm-Savard-Ryder
Lucic-Krejci-Wheeler
Mark Recchi-Patrice Bergeron-Chuck Kobasew
Shawn Thornton-Steve Begin-Byron Bitz

When asked about it, Julien said he was just tweaking things.

"It's just a little tweak for no other reason than to see if that will help maybe shake things up a little bit and get some attention and maybe spark something,'' he said. `"I don't think it's directed necessarily at anybody except for trying to get the best four lines possible (Boston.com).''

The Bruins needed to do something. They have come out flat to start the year. Hopefully being on the road, and changing up the lines will get the Bruins back on track. They play again on Friday and then on Saturday...
