Cooley Out For Year

Wow things can't get much worse for the Redskins...

"Washington Redskins tight end Chris Cooley broke his right ankle on the first play of the second quarter of Monday night's 27-17 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles and was carted off the field with a broken ankle. Redskins coach Jim Zorn said Cooley "will be out for a while," but NFL Network reports that Cooley will be placed on season-ending injured reserve, ending his 2009 season. Quarterback Jason Campbell, whose first four throws Monday were to Cooley, said: "Losing Chris is big." Second-year TE Fred Davis took Cooley's spot in the lineup and finished with a team-high eight catches for 78 yards and a touchdown (Sportsline)."

Cooley is one of the Redskins only passing options on offense. Now he is gone, Zorn is on his way out, Campbell is about to lose his job, and a bunch of money has been wasted once again. Honestly, I am starting to feel bad for Washington fans. Every year they build a team through free agency, get excited, and then watch as it blows up in their face. Nothing will change with this team until they start taking the draft serious and stop attacking free agency.

Oh, and Chris Cooley is a really weird dude...
