I went to the Bruins 2nd game of the season against Carolina. Great game. The fans were going crazy, the place was packed, yet it still left a bad taste in my mouth. Why?
Well, it has to do with the opening video they showed for the Bruins. The video was like any other. It showed all the great Bruins throughout the years (Orr, Neely, Bourque, Park, ect). It was great, but someone was missing. Now, you are going need to travel back to the 90's with me for a sec. The Bruins had Andy Moog as their goalie. He is one of the best goalies the Bruins ever had. Yet, there is this video and he is not there. You know who was? Reggie Lemelin....his backup.
I love Reggie, but that pissed me off. So, why did they do it? Just an oversight? I don't think so. You have to go back to how the team got rid of Moog. Moog ended up being one of the heads of the NHLPA. The Bruins management, who were complete assholes, got rid of him, and didn't even call him. They left his bags outside of the locker room, and that was it. So, are the Bruins still holding some kind of grudge? I have no idea, but this whole thing really pissed me off, and had a lot to do with why I fell out of hockey (though I am finally back).
