While the Vince Carter trade is the most notable, the Magic were extremely active and picked up Matt Barnes and Brandon Bass, while resigning Marcin Gortat. Matt Barnes is an underrated shooter, and Bass is a big body down low. The Magic are coming off a year where I think everyone was surprised they made the finals. The key to this team is the fore mentioned Vince Carter. VC is going to need to take the spot of Hedo Turkaloo(?) and that isn't going to be easy. Hedo was extremely clutch and deadly from beyond the arc. Carter is more of a slasher than a shooter, so it will be interesting to see how he fits in with the team. I have never been a fan of Rashard Lewis at playing the 4, but I guess with the departure of Hedo and Courtney Lee you will have Jameer Nelson at point, VC at the 2, Rashard at the 3, Gortat at the 4 and Dwight Howard at the 5. Not bad. The Magic will shock me if they get to the championship again, but I believe they will be good for 3rd in the East.
