#1 The Big Ten is Wicked Wide Open
Michigan lost in East Lansing. Penn State's lost already. Ohio State and Wisconsin meet each other next week, so one of the 2-0 (conference) Big Ten teams will fall. And guess what, Michigan might beat Iowa and cause a massive cluster-fuck at the top of the Big Ten. This conference would be exciting if it had divisions and a title game. Instead, it has its weird scheduling (Penn State and Wisconsin don't play each other, for example), and confusing tie-breakers. But at least the games themselves aren't frustrating, they're entertaining.

#2 The ACC Coastal Division is Just Silly
Maryland leads the division, despite being 2-3 overall. BC has an excellent chance of winning the division as they don't have to play Miami or Georgia Tech. The Eagles already have wins over Wake Forest and FSU. In total, the ACC Coastal Division is a combined 16-14. Yikes.
#3 Stanford is Really for Real
The Cardinal beat UCLA 24-16 (game wasn't as close as that). They're 3-0 in the Pac-10 and 4-1 overall. It looks like they'll make their first bowl appearance since the 2001 Seattle Bowl. They could also determine the Pac-10 title by how well they do against Oregon and USC, who they play in back-to-back weeks in November.
#4 The Georgia Effect Sucks
At the end of the season, look at the rankings and you'll find a team with 4 losses randomly in the Top 25. And it'll be Georgia. Or maybe Oklahoma. But it's an effect of college voting. Reputation matters 10 times more than what happens on the field. Just ask yourself this: would Boise State be ranked 6th if they hadn't won the Fiesta Bowl in '07?

#5 Miami Will Be Sick in a Year or Two
They're not at BCS level right now, but they are going to make the Chick-fil-a Bowl, or the Gator Bowl. They'll get more recruits who will see a growing program that will allow them to both start, and to win lots of games. Miami is back to being high profile after they beat Oklahoma 21-20.
#6 The Pac-10 is Oregon's to Lose
The Ducks lost a weird game to Boise State, and then won 4 straight, scoring 30+ each time. They beat Utah, they beat Cal. They've won 7 straight at home, and guess who has to go up to Eugene to play them: Southern Cal. That game will be huge. But right now, Oregon has the inside track to the Pac-10 title. They might also have Blount in that game.

#7 UNC Are Massive Frauds
Two weeks ago North Carolina was ranked. Now they've lost to Georgia Tech and Virginia. 2 conference losses in the ACC Coastal Division (where Miami and Virginia Tech play), and that's it. They play Georgia Southern this weekend, and should enjoy that win. Because they still have Va-Tech, Miami, BC, and Florida State to lose to.
#8 There Are a Lot of Moronic Voters
Looking at the polls this week, and I just have to shake my head. In the AP Poll, Georgia got the 28th most votes. Boston College was 32nd. I think BC is decent, but 32nd means they're in the top 1/4 of all college football. No way. BC would be 33rd in the Coaches' Poll. Georgia got the 26th most vote from the coaches, only a tad behind 5-0 Wisconsin (Georgia got 148 points, Wisconsin 156). And for some reason, the coaches voted Penn State above Iowa. Iowa beat Penn State... in Happy Valley... and Iowa is 5-0.
#9 This Will Be One of the Worst BCS Years Ever
Boise State should run the table. They also have a quality win over Oregon. Whoever comes out of the SEC will have all that strength of schedule on their side, and even a 2 loss SEC team will have a rightful claim to a title shot. Virginia Tech has the ACC in their pocket, and remember that Alabama beat them. And don't forget Texas. There will be 4 or 5 teams that will deserve a title shot. Only 2 will get there. It's unfortunate.
#10 Notre Dame Sucks
They might be 4-1, but it's a soft 4-1. They needed overtime to beat Washington at home. They scraped by lowly Purdue 24-21, and were 25 seconds away from losing. They needed a ridiculously bad pass to beat Michigan State 33-30. They're only dominating win was against Nevada. They'll be exposed by USC this weekend, but they could still finish with 11 wins, which is sad.
