Really Drew, Already?

"The Boston Globe reports that J.D. Drew has battled lingering hamstring issues over the winter and may not be ready when spring training starts for position players in less than two weeks (ESPN)."

There was a part of me going into this season that thought "Hey it's Drew's contract year maybe he'll actually want to play baseball". My apologies on that, I don't know what I was thinking.

This could end up being a good thing. Report indicate that Mike Cameron is 100% healthy, and that gives the Red Sox the fastest outfield in the major leagues. On top of that Cameron, when healthy, is just a better player then Drew. The Sox have plenty of guys in the minors (Daniel Nava, Darnell McDonald and Josh Reddick) that can easily slide into that 4th outfielder spot.

Still, JD Drew you are such a pain in the ass. Thank God this is the last year.
