The Sox Should Start Worrying About The Recent Moves Made By The Yankees
The New York Yankees have reached an agreement on a minor league contract with pitcher Freddy Garcia, a baseball source told ESPN.com.
Garcia will receive a $1.5 million base salary if he makes the big league club. He can earn $3.6 million in possible incentives, topping out at 30 starts, according to a source. It also lets Garcia opt out by March 29, according to a report. ESPN
I like Freddy Garcia but are the Yankees serious with these minor league deals? Are they really going to throw Freddy Garcia and Bartolo Colon as their 4, 5 starters. Freddy is a solid pitcher and went 12-6 last year for the White Sox, but he will get lit up in the AL East. He shouldn't be any worse then Javier Vazquez, but still, this can't be their answer.
