I guess the Dodgers were freeing up some money when they declined Brad Penny's option, because they came out the very next day and offered Manny Ramirez a contract that is worth 25 million a year for 2 or 3 years. I don't think this is the offer Manny will take, but this is exactly what I think he is worth. The Dodgers know he won't take this deal, but at least (for the fans sake) it looks like they have tried with an honest offer. Manny said he wanted to test the market, and see who the highest bidder would be. I really believe he doesn't care where he plays as long as Boras and Manny get the biggest payday they can.
"I want to see who is the highest bidder. Gas is up and so am I" says Manny.
