Gostkowski: Special Teams Player of the Month
The Patriots have been racking up the hardware this moth, as Stephen Gostkowski won AFC's Special Teams Player of the Month. Earlier this week Jerod Mayo won Rookie Defensive Player of the Month. Gostkowski joined Adam Vinatieri, as the only kickers in Patriots history to receive this award. In October, Gostkowski has made 90% of his field goals (9 out of 10) and totaled 38 points to lead the Patriots in scoring. Overall Gostkowski This season he has made 16 of 17 field goals (94.1 percent), and has not missed a field goal from under 40 yards. The Patriots came under fire after they did not bring back Adam Vinatieri, but after seeing how well Gostkowski has been playing (and the struggles of Vinatieri), I bet the Patriots are glad they didn't spend the extra money to bring him back.
