Pedro To Pitch Next Year

"SI.com's Jon Heyman talked to Pedro Martinez's agent, Fern Cuza. Cuza says his client will pitch next year, and "it'll be fun to see the old Pedro again." He's healthy now after last year's hamstring injury".

I love Pedro, but it is time to go. Pedro can't throw above 87-88 MPH (and even that is optimistic), and doesn't have the endurance to go more then 4 or 5 innings. I thought for a while that maybe he could be a closer, but I don't know if his arm could handle having to be used/warmed up that often. Pedro is one of my favorite players of all-time, but I think it is time for him to hang it up. Most likely he will get signed to a one-year, incentive-based deal somewhere. No matter what happens, I don't think there has been, or will be, the same kind of buzz that was around Fenway on nights when Pedro was pitching.
