The pirates who hijacked a Saudi supertanker have demanded a $25m ransom to be paid within 10 days.
They have warned of "disastrous" consequences unless the money is paid, according to the news agency, AFP.
Mohamed Said, who claimed to be one of the pirates who seized the Sirius Star, told the agency: "We are demanding $25m [£17m] from the Saudi owners of the tanker.
"The Saudis have 10 days to comply, otherwise we will take action that could be disastrous." (guardian.co.uk)
Is anyone else super excited that Pirates are making a comeback? I know they're probably killing lots of innocent people and stealing a lot of oil, but isn't that what pirates are supposed to do? And it's so like them to use words like "disasterous". I for one am rooting for the pirates and hope all of their demands are granted (25 mil for the oil tanker)cause the Saudis have been such ball hogs with that shit.
