"Already facing another week of no Troy Polamalu, the Pittsburgh Steelers might have to play Thursday night without wide receiver Hines Ward. Via Twitter, NFL Insider Adam Schefter noted yesterday that Ward sustained a hamstring injury late in Sunday's loss to the Oakland Raiders. Moreover, due to the injury, Steelers coach Mike Tomlin says that Ward is in question for the game against the Cleveland Browns. Regarding the short week to recover, Tomlin said, "not favorable for him," per the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review (ESPN)."
Usually if a team is playing the Browns I would say rest you injured players, but the Steelers have to win this week, or they are going to be out of playoff hunt quickly. Ward is a tough guy, so I think there is hope that he will play, but hamstrings can be a pain in the ass for WRs. You have to wonder if Roethlisberger would chuckle a little bit if Ward was unable to play.
