The Latest On Jason Bay

"ESPN The Magazine's Buster Olney says this morning via the Hot Stove that "there are concerns within the Boston organization about whether Bay would hold up physically through a multi-year deal." Amalie Benjamin of the Boston Globe writes today that the market for Bay is smaller than anticipated and that the Red Sox may have read that market correctly. No move is expected today since Benjamin tweets this morning that the "Red Sox front office has mostly bolted Indy already (ESPN)."

Here is what you need to know.

1. The Sox may have read the market correctly on Bay, since there are not a lot of teams jumping on him.

2. Seattle (from what I am reading) is all but out of the race for Bay.

3. The Angels seem to be out too as they are focused on their pitching staff.

4. The Mets are the new team throwing their name around. They could be tough fro Boston to beat out, since they love throwing around crazy contracts.

5. I still think Bay is coming back.

6. Nothing is going to happen soon with the Sox. The front office doesn't seem to be panicking, and is already mostly back in Boston.
