The Sox are deadly at home, and Baltimore just looks like they want this season to end. Tonight we will see Paul Byrd take on Jason Berken. This could be a really high scoring game, since Byrd basically throws batting practice pitches, and Berken is 4-11 with an ERA over 6.
After a great 1st start in which Byrd went 6 scoreless inning, he quickly came back to Earth letting up 7 runs over just 2 1/3 innings last time out. I don't think the Sox are going to get much from Byrd, but they need him to eat some innings at least until they get Dice-K back (and maybe even the rest of the season if Wakefield can battle his way back).
The good news for the Sox is that Baltimore is just 4-21 in AL East road games, and have only won 2 games against the Sox all year. You add that to the fact that Berken is terrible, and you would expect the Sox to come out with a win tonight...
