Red Sox @ Rays Preview (Lineup Is In)
Tonight we get to see some of the best young pitching prospects in the MLB go head to head, as Clay Buchholz goes against David Price. The Rays have momentum on their side after the win last night, and are now 9-5 against the Sox this year.
Buchholz is coming off one his better outings, allowing 1 run and 3 hits while striking out a season-high 8 in 8 1/3 innings to earn the win in a 3-2 victory over Toronto on Saturday. Buccholz has shown that he has the talent to be a great MLB pitcher, but now he needs to show that he can do it every start.
Price is tough at home going 6-2 with a 2.96 ERA in 9 starts, earned the win in his only start against the Red Sox by allowing 2 runs in six innings of a 6-4 victory Aug. 5. He is also coming off a very strong outing against Detroit giving up 1 run in 7 1/3 innings.
Should be another good one tonight. Game starts at 7:08 on NESN.
